ISP's are slowly implementing IPv6, at least mine did. Costs for IPv4 will go up, and switching to IPv6 will become cheaper. Infrastructure is already there so we should see a slow movement towards IPv6 and the phasing out of IPv4.

I think cloud hosting provides more flexibility like hourly billing and create / destroy on demand. Most cloud platforms also provide features that VPS can't provide like autoscaling, snapshots, automated backups, ... After all it's an overused marketing buzz word, and you should always check...

We use OpenVZ, because of it's rebootless scaling. We need this for our features and autoscaling. We also allow you to download a snapshot to a tar.gz archive so you can recover files from your VPS locally. We will add direct migration in a future stage.

Hi Scudlayer, We currently offer this already. You can take a snapshot of a server, and deploy this in a different location. But we only have one location for now so that doesn't come in handy at the moment :).
