      Current state of vpsBoard   02/04/2017

      Dear vpsBoard members and guests:

Over the last year or two vpsBoard activity and traffic has dwindled. I have had a change of career and interests, and as such am no longer an active member of the web hosting industry.

Due to time constraints and new interests I no longer wish to continue to maintain vpsBoard. The web site will remain only as an archive to preserve and showcase some of the great material, guides, and industry news that has been generated by members, some of which I remain in contact to this very day and now regard as personal friends.

I want to thank all of our members who helped make vpsBoard the fastest growing industry forum. In it's prime it was an active and ripe source of activity, news, guides and just general off-topic banter and fun.

I wish all members and guests the very best, whether it be with your business or your personal projects.

  2. is vpsboard dead?

Depends on who you ask. I'm no longer working in the IT industry and haven't been for a while, but I've got a couple online projects I'm working on on the side. vpsBoard definitely isn't at it's peak activity but it's still, uh, 'in use'.
  3. The cesspit / chat thread.

    Word.
  4. To those who celebrate the holiday, I wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving. May your plates be full of great food and you be surrounded by good family!
  5. The cesspit / chat thread.

Yep. I still have a dev box but got pretty upset when I couldn't get support for it. They're weird. Worst case scenario on a live box is I goof something up badly enough I got to do a restore from backup. A pain in the ass, sure, but not a catastrophic failure by any means.
  6. The cesspit / chat thread.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate IPB? Run updates, it always fucks something up. Anyhow, until now, the side bar ads are going to be displayed above the content feed because IPB is retarded and broke the 'Pages' feature which I use to create custom sidebar blocks like the one that displayed the ads when they appear below the content feed. Just making this known since last time ads were moved people freaked out on me. I'm working with IPB to find out why everytime I upgrade something new breaks.
  7. vpsBoard is now adsBoard

The "vpsBoard Discussions" sidebar feed shouldn't contain stuff from the marketplace forums... This has been fixed. My bad! :)
  8. looking for 10 vps with residential ips

For what reason is this required?
  9. vpsBoard - Future Discussion

Posting from work right now. I only get a little time on the computer to check emails and write reports but I'm still very much here. I know I'm backlogged on responding to PMs but I still check the reported content (spam) and remove items as needed. :) I'll be back later once I get home.

It definitely came from them. Jon Biloh himself initiated a conversation with me on Skype to request I respond promptly to the email. See the screenshot that I posted on LowEndTalk when it came up in the CestPit that @DomainBop shared in this thread as well as the screenshot below: I asked Jon on LET to respond to the claim and verify that what I am saying is true or untrue, he has decided not to respond. I don't think it's necessary, the information I've provided is proof enough. I have no interest in antagonizing him or Greg Clark of Colocrossing / HudsonValleyHost for a formal response to this, as their silence speaks louder than anything they could say about the matter.
  11. Please delete this information, I don't want to get another legal letter about 'libel' on my blog.
  12. ColoCrossing threatens to sue vpsBoard

I have not yet heard back from Greg. I emailed him back 2 days ago. EDIT: And yes, the subject of the email was literally, "Request to remove Libelous Blog String-VPS Board"
  13. Good song from a good (but weird/messed up) movie.
  14. ColoCrossing threatens to sue vpsBoard

Thanks for the heads up, much appreciated.

The second result listed is a negative review published on HudsonValleyHost's parent company's own website, LowEndTalk ( https://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/52647/hudsonvalleyhost-com-very-bad-experience-buyers-be-aware ). Surprised they are asking me to remove one from this site, when they themselves have not or will not do the same on their own. ;)
