      Current state of vpsBoard   02/04/2017

      Dear vpsBoard members and guests:

Over the last year or two vpsBoard activity and traffic has dwindled. I have had a change of career and interests, and as such am no longer an active member of the web hosting industry.

Due to time constraints and new interests I no longer wish to continue to maintain vpsBoard. The web site will remain only as an archive to preserve and showcase some of the great material, guides, and industry news that has been generated by members, some of which I remain in contact to this very day and now regard as personal friends.

I want to thank all of our members who helped make vpsBoard the fastest growing industry forum. In it's prime it was an active and ripe source of activity, news, guides and just general off-topic banter and fun.

I wish all members and guests the very best, whether it be with your business or your personal projects.

  1. @Francisco Why not make use of the BuyShared.net domain? Just curious.
  2. If you bring your own key, are the licensing fees waived for server 2008?
  3. There's also this: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/11391/job-opportunity-bhost
  4. vpsBoard advertisements.

I've got no problem with advertisements from people that have a presence on the forum.
  5. Understandable if you can't, but could you comment as to whether or not you are proceeding with legal action towards any of the suspected parties involved?
  6. Free Domain .nu for 1 Year

Their TOS gave me a good laugh. For the love of all things human, could someone please explain to me how you log out? Help! My keyboard cord won't reach the System from my desk. ...among other odd ones. :) Anyways, back on topic... Thanks for sharing!
  7. Daily site backups on my cPanel server. Misc configuration for my other boxes, anywhere from 5 min to hourly to weekly backups. And then there's my unimportant stuff. I live on the edge and don't back it up ;)
  8. One very nice .co.uk domain

Unfortunately, Valuate isn't something that can be relied on for an un-inflated appraisal - it's a bot, it's not perfect. I've appraised domains on Valuate, for shits-and-giggles, where the listed value was $0. These same domains have turned into $xxxx profits :) I've also appraised domains there where the listed value was ~$2000, yet they're worth only ~$100 at most. People use Valuate, Estibot and various other domain appraisal bots to inflate the price of a domain while they're attempting to get rid of it (ex. Hey, this site tells me it's worth $500, but i'll give it to you for $100!). Unfortunately the domain has a few downsides in terms of selling features. The .co.uk extension makes it only appealing to people in that region. In terms of someone buying the domain on a whim, I'd say very unlikely. What @jhadley will probably need is someone looking for this domain specifically in order for him to get the amount he's asking for. I doubt he'll get it in an auction setting. Just my feedback/opinion :)
  9. EasyPvP.net & MinecraftIsAwesome.com

Seeing as there was no interest here, and as the end time has passed, auction closed. You'll probably see them over on LET or somewhere else in the coming days :) Cheers.
  10. EasyPvP.net & MinecraftIsAwesome.com

Haha, well I bought minecraftisawesome.com over on LET for $7 (I think) and then renewed it, it's a smoking deal for both :) Thanks for the consideration!
  11. EasyPvP.net & MinecraftIsAwesome.com

    No one interested? :(
