      Current state of vpsBoard   02/04/2017

      Dear vpsBoard members and guests:

      Over the last year or two vpsBoard activity and traffic has dwindled. I have had a change of career and interests, and as such am no longer an active member of the web hosting industry.

      Due to time constraints and new interests I no longer wish to continue to maintain vpsBoard. The web site will remain only as an archive to preserve and showcase some of the great material, guides, and industry news that has been generated by members, some of which I remain in contact to this very day and now regard as personal friends.

      I want to thank all of our members who helped make vpsBoard the fastest growing industry forum. In it's prime it was an active and ripe source of activity, news, guides and just general off-topic banter and fun.

      I wish all members and guests the very best, whether it be with your business or your personal projects.

    It's been idle most of the winter though. Even when it was still hot outside people slowed down on consumption. Everyone started watching their weight all of the sudden :p I don't know that we've even used it since @KnownHost-ChrisM has started have we?

    Uh oh, that's not intentional. The link is supposed to be http not https. We use a service for resume/app submission and they're not SSL-friendly by default so I'm still working on that with them. Requested a mod to fix link for now.

  11. Technical Support Operators staff the front lines of our company - namely our 24/7/365 helpdesk. They're responsible for providing our customers with extraordinary customer service and support on a daily basis and ensuring that going above and beyond is just part of the job. In addition to technical prowess, our Technical Support Operators need to posses customer service skills that are way beyond average and also have an attitude and personality that makes them suited to work with people (our customers and their co-workers!) and make those people happy. Compensation is dependent upon experience and skillset. Please note we are a Linux only host, so Linux experience is a must. The primary responsibilities of our Technical Support Operators are: Provide customers support via our 24/7 helpdesk. Troubleshooting email delivery issues Troubleshooting cPanel, Plesk, and DirectAdmin related issues Troubleshooting DNS, FTP, SSL, Apache, and other service-related issues. Ensuring customer satisfaction Basics: All of our Technical Support Operators: Must be customer-focused, and willing to do whatever it takes to resolve customer issues. Going above and beyond is the standard at KnownHost. Our customer reviews reflect this. Excellent written English. Technical Support Operators currently primarily provide support over email, but may occasionally be asked to pitch in with live chat and phone support. Must be familiar with Linux shell (bash), Apache, PHP, MySQL, email (POP3/IMAP/SMTP), FTP, DNS and other standard web hosting applications and protocols. They can remove all physical assets/offices/etc. from the EU at which point they're basically giving a middle finger to the EU as the EU then has no way to "force" Google into paying any tax, VAT or otherwise. VAT might work in a pre-internet world, but VAT is not enforceable for other countries which have no physical assets in the EU as legally the EU has no way to go after say, a US company so the only thing is when you have physical assets in the EU that they could seize based on their laws. Without those physical assets, poof, they can't really do much to you (the company avoiding taxes there).
