I have a dedicated server with a provider and i'm thinking of moving to a new provider.

the specs:

4gb ram

500gb hdd

intel xeon quad core

unlimited bandwidth (10Mbps guaranteed up to 100Mbps)

eur14.99

£11.98

$20.37

if you guys can offer me a better deal i might go for it but not for up to 3 months.

What is your usage for the server?

For an extra 5 euro you can grab double your specs + ddos protection and unmetered 150Mbit.

-------------------------

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

D. Bop presents a VPSBoard exclusive link and a mini review! OMFG, this is better than polling hairs!

Dedibox XC serverbear (Debian) http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2014/06/25/V7nC4idYnhaAmLeG and serverbear (Proxmox) http://serverbear.com/benchmark/2014/06/25/xrbIj38aIkGREfjy

The free DDoS protection that is included with those shouldn't even be called DDoS protection if you ask me.  If you want real protection you need to subscribe to their premium DDoS tiers which are 20 and 50 euros monthly.

Pros: Setup for the XC the other night was in 4 minutes 53 seconds. Reboots and OS installs through control panel.  Free /48 IPv6. bla bla bla.  Network is stable.

Cons: no free pocket lamps and the HD on these is a 2 1/2" notebook drive (for the dd wackos dd tests on the Online.net Avoton XC are 70-80 compared to the .125-160 you'd get on a Kimsufi i3-2130

-------------

If you don't need RAID or extra IPs but do need real DDoS protection I'd go for either the Kimsufi i3-2130 8GB RAM (15 euros) or i5-2400 16GB RAM (20 euros)

why not?

vps host :)
Oh...

The Kimsufi's are limited to 1 IPv4 address and 1 IPv6 address.  The Online.net XC is up to 5 IPv4 (2 euros monthly for each additional IP) and a free /48 IPv6 block.

Single low end drive, going to have performance issued from day one, even if it is a free service. Still need to provide a service that works, atleast with the online.net server it is named Hardware. But even then we'll under powered I/O for a VPS node, let alone the hosting I thought you might use it for.

I use a single drive for my current node.
Don't mean its the right thing to do, how many VPS you expecting to be able to host on that server?

Even offering something for free, in my eyes it still needs to work and function to a certain degree.

The Online.net Avoton XC is Supermicro but it is also using a single consumer grade 2 1/2" laptop drive.  The  XC uses a 2 1/2" HGST HTS721010A9E630 drive.  The Kimsufi i5 uses a (also consumer grade) 3 1/2" TOSHIBA DT01ACA100.

I'm not saying either should be used, however the actually hardware it self is server grade, where Kimsufi hardware is custom built.

Nobody should be putting any client shared/reseller/VPS even free on a single drive with todays technology.

We can probably work something out within your budget, you can contact our sales department from our website. My only concern would be that we would not be able to get you in a RAID configuration within your budget. Using a single drive server for hosting paid clients is a very bad idea.
