I got an email from Rackend (to an email address I gave only to Privatelayer!).
Here's its content:
I don't have any services with either company, and afaik I never have. Obviously I've given Privatelayer my email address in the past, but the fact that Rackend managed to get my email address is odd.
I know literally nothing about either company, but I thought it was worth posting here if not for the popcorn of it all, but to give anyone who has services with them but didn't get the email the heads-up.

Grupo Panaglobal clarification regarding false statements of Privatelayer
Grupo Panaglobal 15 S.A, owned by www.grupoyemail.com, the only investor of Private Layer INC a company founded in Panama would like to clarify the current malicious situation happening within Private Layer.
Private Layer has announced that we have decided to not renew their leasing contract . We would like to clarify that this is not true and we renewed a 4 year leasing contract in Sept 2015. During this month Private Layer clients can recall no hardware changes being made or network changes on all E5 2600 and E3 servers. This was PrivateLayer's first attempt to defraud Grupo Panaglobal 15 and we were forced to protect our investment and try to reach an agreement. After almost 1 month we came to an agreement and Private Layer renewed the contract for 4 years.

Privatelayer is forcing their clients to move to old refurbished servers in a scheme to defraud Grupo Panaglobal 15 for the second time.
Currently Privatelayer is behind on payments owed and is refusing to pay. Even though we have the right to protect our investments we will not turn off the servers or wipe your data. We are a very serious company and we understand that your financial well being can depend on what you have hosted on the servers. Our new hosting company, rackend.com will be taking over this equipment. The website and the entire infrastructure needed to launch the company will be ready before Jan 1, 2016. This is the date of when our contract with Private Layer, due to non-payments officially ends. If Private Layer decides to disconnect your server, or any way damage is inflicted it is because of Private Layers decision to do so.
If you would like to try our services we are offering all clients 50% off their monthly bill for 2 months. After the 3 month your server will go back to the original price sold. Rackend will be able to offer you the security and confidence your business needs.
Our hosting company and the staff behind its operations are experienced and highly skilled individuals, with the background and experience in the hosting industry that will enable us to provide you with the great service and support your business needs.
The backing of a financially stable group, with diversified investments, allow us to operate our own network and servers, without the need of any third party involved.

The owner of Private Layer is not James Prado as all of their clients have been lead to believe. The actual owner is James Reed McCreary the previous owner of Alpha Red.
