    2015 New Years Resolutions?

Fix things. I screwed up a lot this year and I realize that. So I've brought on new staff, cleaned up things and am preparing for a restructuring of our nodes to increase the quality of our services.

Feathur's (Open Source Virtualization Control Panel) New Design & Improvements

I'm not sure how SolusVM does it so I'll describe how Feathur is being designed to hand out IP space and you can make suggestions from there. Typical use case: An admin has a /48 and wants to allow users to have a /64. The admin would add the /64 in Feathur and set the default assignment to a...

Feathur's (Open Source Virtualization Control Panel) New Design & Improvements

& @ AMDbuilder => Demo... at the moment you'd have to PM me and ask for one or you can PM me with a VPS login (Debian 6/7) and I can setup a copy for you. As for new features... where do I start? Off the top of my head: - At least 500 random/minor bug fixes since the last time I posted about...

Feathur's (Open Source Virtualization Control Panel) New Design & Improvements

I felt like posting about some if the new features and the new design we have implemented into Feathur lately. Before I begin I'd like to clear up a few misunderstandings within the community about what Feathur is...   Quick FAQ / About   Q: What is Feathur? A: Feathur is an open source VPS...

I don't like to speculate. I'd like to think that people are honest no matter what...

    BlueVM's domain name was hijacked

They have given us special treatment, but we will be migrating all of our domains to another company shortly. We took precautions to include disabling key servers and resetting every password that could have been associated with a @bluevm.com email. We checked our logs, but found no breach of...

    BlueVM's domain name was hijacked

@drmike - I don't say anything here because frankly everyone here has already made a judgement and there's little point in attempting to reason with you. Every time I come on this forum it's another thread about how we've been "taken over" and it gets very tiresome dealing with your continued...

Any VM control panel that will support debian/ubuntu?

Just for clarification it's entirely possible to use Debian for OpenVZ, just OpenVZ doesn't "support it". As for KVM it's entirely possible to host it on Debian (in fact I just did an install for KVM + Debian the other day).

    Kippo ssh honeypot

Glad to see your VPS is being put to an interesting use... Feel free to zip up the results and PM them to me when you're done so we can see if there's anything we need to watch for ;)

ColoCrossing, Quick to Get Large IP Blocks Issued and Faster to Soil Them

No... spamhaus seems to have a shoot first ask questions later attitude when dealing with us. We asked them for suggestions and methods they've found effective and they basically told us that we should block port 25 and stop accepting customers who want to send mail. Which makes about as much...

ColoCrossing, Quick to Get Large IP Blocks Issued and Faster to Soil Them

We have never lied to spamhaus about terminating spammers... nor do we support spammers in any fashion. Today I launched a new detection system which should put a stop to spam on our network altogether. I take spam termination very seriously and our new system will catch and suspend abusive...

Preventing Outbound DDOS - Infected VPS and Blocking Ports

While true (and we do have other scripts which do shut down the VPS) many hosts don't want to turn off the VPS because they'd prefer not to have backlash from the client. If you want to shutdown the VPS it's quite easily done with a small change to the script. This is purely an example to help...

Preventing Outbound DDOS - Infected VPS and Blocking Ports

We've noticed a massive increase in the amount of outbound DDOS attempted on our servers lately. Most of it seems to be coming from a script called 'cupsddh'. We came up with a script to monitor and stop this infection from sending ddos and we figured we'd share it with the community. The...

    BlueVM's ownership

I own BlueVM Communications LLC. Arsene left the company about 1.5 years ago. I rarely remember to update the site's about page so it hasn't been updated in ~6 months maybe more? Anyway I went though and updated it, but honestly if you wanted to confirm I own the company you could have done a...
