    ChicagoVPS acquires 123systems

The CAN-SPAM act requires that all unsubscribe requests be honored within 10 business days.  I only mention this because I've requested 6 times dating back to last October to be unsubscribed from Fabspammer's CVPS spam and all requests have been ignored (yeah, the latest CVPS spam arrived this...

fixed that quote. :P March 2011 BuffaloVPS LEB offer: Fabozo's business plan has always revolved around multiple LEB offers.  I don't expect that to change anytime soon.

    ChicagoVPS acquires 123systems

Agree.  There seems to have been a change of mood on LET/B and "big RAM crap performance" isn't the crowd pleaser it used to be over there.  The emergence of several good reliable low end providers, plus Vultr/DO (and Linode's new lower priced plan), and the blacklisting of most of CC's network...

    Advice for a new host...

Then you shouldn't even be thinking about starting a web hosting business until you learn them. If you don't know Linux commands it is also safe to say (that like a lot of hosts) you also don't know the first thing about server security...and yet you want people to trust you with their data...

    Whats happening with 123Systems?

They were never good but based on the comments on WHT and their last LEB offer customers have been basically abandoned when it comes to support. Downtime and outages have increased significantly...and Fabozzi is winning any disputes by pointing to his "no refund policy". tl;dr a repeat of what...

    Crissic Review

suggestion (I make this to lots of providers): add a "legal jurisdiction and venue" / "choice of law" clause to your TOS.  Then the next time someone threatens to sue over their $15 annual plan remind them that they agreed to waive jurisdiction as a defense and agreed that any litigation would...

    RaptorNode has been apparently hacked.

The hacker had no way of knowing the website wasn't owned by the IDF because RaptorNode's WHOIS is private.  Public WHOIS would have avoided this confusion. :) Hard to tell if there's a relationship since both use private WHOIS.  Public WHOIS would have avoided this confusion. :)

BurstNet getting back into the game with SmartHost?

Customer databases are one of the most valuable structural capital assets any company possesses and the only person/entity I would expect to have a copy would be the current owners of the company. There is also the whole privacy issue. Burstnet customers never gave their consent for their data...

BurstNet getting back into the game with SmartHost?

Why should it surprise anyone that he kept a dump of his old company's database and used it to spam the hell out of people solicit sales?  After all if you recall, this is the same person who somehow had a dump of his CUSTOMER VolumeDrive's database last summer and used it to spam email...
