SecureDragon Changes Up Their Bandwidth Pricing

Oh boy, this is never a good sign.  Hoping @KuJoe is fine. Those new plans are lean, especially on the 32MB one.  They were all 500GB before :(   Except the 1 and 2GB plans.

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

I'm sure glad and quiet on this :)  Beyond my knowledge base.  I don't monkey at that level of the network. I've seen the issues in CC's network for eons and posted ample exampls of the wonkiness.  Never could quite figure out what the gremlin in the machine was. Thanks to everyone...

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

Some fun info about Colocrossing for today. The reason Colocrossing can't offer IPv6 and has delayed setting up BGP sessions (See Crissic's LA departure thread) is because they don't actually have a large  core router. Instead, they use switches similar to the photo below as their "edge...

    What's for Lunch?

I just had half alright Americanized burrito from a regional gasoline chain that has gone all yuppie.  Wasn't up to snuff with say Chipolte, but was above the rubbish in the freezer section. One of those days in my humble abode.   All work, no time.

    What's for Lunch?

I did the potatoes + onions + green peppers + salt + pepper mix in the oven the other morning.  Heap of potatoes wasting away in a cupboard. Right now, well today, on the liquid diet.   Cytomax  Sports Drink now, earlier it was lemonade (fresh squeezed), in an hour it probably will be a beer...

    DNS Server Locations

14x slower with the uncached. I run the same general idea internally with a minimum cache time  on records.   Irks me though when upstreams do this for public records and/or DNS hosting with your domain records -- that is caching things inconsistently compared to your config.

    DNS Server Locations

Yep, the DNS caching though = bad unless the original record says to cache it.  Quite common and it drives me nuts.  Surely they are violating spec. The crypto-based DNS I keep drumming since there are few to no alternatives for the lookups and such concentration creates an identifiable high...

Thought Experiment: A Completely Anonymous Web Site

The age old question you run into as a moral person is that lying is nearly inevitable in life, unless you want to voluntarily be dragged off and hung on a cross. Self preservation is a right and expectation like all others.  Who loses if you lie about who a domain is registered to or who is...
