How visitors can trust on your hosting business?

All providers should listen to the input on this thread.  No matter what stage / age they are.  Clearly missing a bunch of stuff and lacking proper disclosure and image, your brand will suffer. What @graeme in particular did you find with Ramnode, BuyVM and Secure Dragon did not meet...

Datashack (Kansas City) has stopped selling colocation

... and I notice the intentional tip toeing on WHT by @Aaron See even the real estate where the DC is, Aaron registered a domain for it, in 2012. Domain Name: 201E16TH.COM Registry Domain ID: 1699357523_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.enom.com Registrar URL: www.enom.com...

Datashack (Kansas City) has stopped selling colocation

Key thing here is this pivot point: "The entities that own DataShack have no ownership interest in Wholesale and vice versa." Funny seeing that said when you are the guy central to both companies + the muni fiber + ???.   Sure you have different business partners in the businesses, but...

Datashack (Kansas City) has stopped selling colocation

First, less conspiracy known or inferred and more matter of who is what.  This is far from the first time that people have asked what the link is between these companies. I'll note @Aaron that you didn't deny ownership role in either company.  More of diversion about the agent matter.  Anyone...

Anyone running solar powered stuff at home?

Keep stuff running DC.  No reason to penalize yourself and draw power down doing unnecessary power conversion losses. Monitors are hard to find advertised directly as DC.  They treat them like exotic or something.  Never understood the niche on pricing with DC monitors.  Check out the Lapdock...

    1and1.com begging to be sued.

Back to 1and1...  This company should be closed.  Business practices they employ are beyond comprehension stupid and extortion. So I cancelled PayPal attachment to 1and1.   Changed accounts and pulled recurring payments from everywhere.  Found too many loose payments, stuff prior cancelled...

Anyone running solar powered stuff at home?

Just so you know, most electronics internally are purely DC.  Might need to tap in where the wall wart was externally and remove that, might need to pigtail the internal power board and remove it from equation if power is done inside monitor. Part of why I don't get guys with solar setups...

    Raspberry PI 3 Now Launched!

In fairness, the Pi folks and their media on new product has been a bit sloppy.   64-bit part isn't strong in product details, overlooked by many media outlets. 2.5A feature is indeed a feature.  Should have been really clear, surely wasn't.  Purely there to handle more USB devices tethered...

    Raspberry PI 3 Now Launched!

Actually the 2A power supply should work fine.  They bumped up the onboard power capacity to support 2.5A to accommodate more power hungry devices you just couldn't run before.

    Raspberry PI 3 Now Launched!

I feel the same way.  I like the Odroids.    Community is superior and stack of software for the Pi devices is better though (so far). I want an Odroid XU4.. but need to find one somewhere. The Odroid C2 just was announced and shipping now or in next few days...

    Raspberry PI 3 Now Launched!

I noticed that.  Did either company actually have stock prior and sold out?  Or are they all doing pre-orders? Argg....  Hate the little dance on inventory with the RPi launches. In other related news, Microsoft is selling the RPi 3... No joke... Have to wait a month though...

    Raspberry PI 3 Now Launched!

SATA?  Cubieboards are your friend.  Orange Pi, some models have SATA. The Raspberry Pi 3 turns out is indeed 64-bit.  GPU supposedly with some limited codec is way faster. The wifi / bluetooth chip bundle allegedly breaks out communications and the NIC supposedly isn't on the same shared...

The 2016 (USA) Presidential Election Thread

Also, I haven't liked Trump's likely limited knowledge and stance on the Apple vs. DOJ matter about breaking into phones and busting up crypto in essence. That issue has me a bit sore.  However, I am not hearing anything logical or informed out of the candidates.  It's a nerd / fringe and...

The 2016 (USA) Presidential Election Thread

Trump isn't a hater.   His own companies are very diverse and he hires women and minorities at rates that exceed others and has for many decades. Muslims is a blanket term and logically so.  We have these terrorists attacks and they aren't being perpetrated by white Protestants.  If they...
