Actually a friend of mine in college committed suicide after a heavy night of drinking and then a fight with some... close friends of his.   It's a messed up situation, definitely something not right.  But can't really tell anyone "hey don't ever make big decisions while drunk".

Honestly no idea why the police were interacting with Mr. Murdock.  His tweets claim he'd be updating his blog, however no such update ever happened.  It is fairly fishy I will admit. Correct.  All information suggests he passed on Monday evening.

Vultr is probably the easiest and cheapest one you'll probably have, unless you go with someone who's willing to go cheaper. Issue is usually with Windows licensing in general.

I'm not christian and I don't mind if other people wish to express their heritage or traditions, and I'm pretty sure everyone else feels the same way (as long as it's not crammed down their throats or if it's overbearing). I don't see why the PS is even necessary lol.

I like the Pi and all, but I don't see it as being a good alternative to a proper firewall/router/security system.  The Security Cam, yeah that makes sense, but the firewall haha, I don't know. The Raspberry Pi music box is pretty awesome.  I'd love that.
