That rent pricing is not realistic, if ypu divide the server cost by 12 it comes out at around 100$+colo at 50$ (at most) - Total rental cost should be less than 150$ thus. 200$ and in special that 300$ setup are EXTREMELY overpriced for such an E3 machine.

At 35EUR per stick (8GB DDR3 ECC) this is almost right - 560EUR for the RAM, leaves 90EUR for the other HW including 4 rarely used 2TB HDDs + a good RAID controller and the server itself...

Not bad, seems like it could show a TB HDD as 500GB (or 2 as 1, 4 as 2 etc.) and copy all data to the second part, not sure how that would circumvent disk encryption though.
