Second @HalfEatenPie opinion. Heck they started about 11 years ago and grew right into the top tech corps. Time to get this sorted and to split risc into smaller parts. Funny naming for a share-holing umbrella company - but at least no neo-tech-marketing naming.

Because it is written in Java. Hadoop is a sub project from Nutch. Nutch is part of Lucene. Lucene was written in Java right from the start (portability in mind).

It will survive but will change to something service realigned. Billed hourly with different services to switch on and off. Supporting Ruby, Node.JS and Phyton. Like the vps market the ones finding an easy way to auto-setup and auto-billing such agile packages will win.

The Lime version 2 does have 1 GB RAM.  My plans are quite simple: "Extended USB stick". Encrypted sd card containing my main Linux desktop [SSH/SCP/OpenVPN/SVN/Browser/Emails(IMAP)] Plug into any PC, ssh into it and resume work.
