We have quite a few Dual Xeon L5420 in service for OpenVZ, Xen, and KVM VPS nodes (as do many of our customers), and they are workhorses.  Obviously, an E5-2620 will hold more VPS, but the Dual L5420 is very capable.

There are so many variables that it is difficult to compare a shared/VPS environment with a dedicated environment. We have several customers who use these servers for Minecraft and have said that it works great.

FYI -- when updating to the latest version, if your clients' VPS has an invalid hostname, it will be replaced with vps.server.com.  Per Phill @ SolusVM, this is expected.

I think NewEgg needs to invest in some better packing materials.  Many of their boxes arrive damaged.  I also think that the NewEgg logo on the outside of the box is an indicator to UPS to try to do as much damage to the box as possible. I rarely have problems with SuperBiiz or Amazon, so many...

I wouldn't buy the hard drives included, as they are likely well-used.  I would recommend buying some new drives off of NewEgg/SuperBiiz/etc instead.

Will it have support for PTR records? Can it edit existing zones on the server, or do you have to import them into the interface first?
