FASTER Connectivity to Japan from US West Coast Coming Soonish

We'll see. CNC/CT was never known for open peering (or rather, in upgrading open peering ports) and charge extreme amounts in the US for private ports so this might prove useless after all (or useful if enough T1 upstreams of CNC/CT profit from the new route and give this to their customers)

SSD OpenVZ from $12/yr | HDD OpenVZ from $10/yr | Native /64 IPv6 with each VPS | Crissic Solutions

How do you use a /64 on a OpenVZ instance without routing? I doubt you assign a billion IPs manually to it... whats the real limit? 20? 100?

OVH SLAPPED WITH $188M LAWSUIT FOR HOSTING PIRATE WEBSITES

They only settled with Leaseweb because LW actually *has* a US location, with OVHs CA/FR this lawsuit is mainly irrelevant.

Video card suggestion with good Linux support?

Only had issues with AMD 6XXX (a 6850) and AMD 7XXX (a 7950) with Linux, no matter what drivers (tried a lot of distros as well, from Opensuse over *buntu to Arch) - A GT 730 worked perfectly fine in any. Never had an issue with onboard Intel with Linux either. In the Mac i use now i didn't get...

    Raspberry Pi Model B+

The 4 ports are in itself already HUBed and not dedicated, a USB NIC will result in slow speed if the other one or other USB hardware is actively used.

update on $1 per year vps idea (32MB Club)

Lets stay realistic - If the gov wants they can confiscate your HW as well, same as a rented server - Just because it usually does not happen means not much. Only "real" protection is given by some (mainly EU) countries that guarantee non-confiscation if you work with the government (on a very...

    Do you have health insurance?

It's compulsory here and paid by the employer, so yes. Coverage is not the best though, meds are cheap and usual doctors/clinics are free but things like dental and therapy are not covered at all.
