Very popular with teenagers/kids. Often used for sexting. Also commonly used for drunk selfies. Facebook offered them a $3 Billion buyout but they turned it down, probably regretting that right now.
EDIT: Google apparently offered them $4 Billion.
CC has five years to make 50 IPv6 assignments via SWIP. Who will be lucky enough to be one of them?
I personally think that if ARIN really wanted IPv6 to start being more available they would require ISPs to make more assignments or in less years.
HostLegend was bought by CC for $1000. CC then gives the owner several thousands of dollars in credit so they will use CC if/when they start another company.
Lets not forget about some of the other Minecraft server providers that CC (or affiliated brands) have bought out. http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/1r6fep/host_legends_is_by_far_the_best_server_hostnot/
LEB isn't universally unfair. We have a single VPS node in our rack in Buffalo as well as several nodes in Steadfast Chicago. Its been almost 200 days since our last post and they unfortunately just leave our submissions sitting. We have unposted offers from 77 days ago as well as 47 days ago...
Consumer ISPs like Verizon FiOS enabling the IPv6 support that is built into their provided home routers would undoubtedly start encouraging hosts to make IPv6 more readily available.
FiOS provides routers to all internet customers that have IPv6 support, they just disable it...
We use Observium internally and have used Pingdom in the past. Pingdoms pricing stopped making sense for our use of the platform so we have stopped using it; although we have a custom coded checker in the works.
Have used NewEgg, Amazon, and Superbiiz. NewEggs shipping rates are usually the lowest for 2 or 3 day delivery. But Amazon can't be beaten if they have a sale and you have Prime.
