    Windows 10 anyone?

Anyone else download and play with it yet? For those who have not kept up on e-mail lists or blogs, there's a lot changing with Windows. Their entire patch management is changing and so is their major releases cycles and how they work. It's almost like Windows is going more Mac OSX like.

Does your VPS provider install patches in your container in stealth?

We only touch a clients if they give us permission to manage their security. However, we spend a lot of time interacting with our clients on social media answering questions and more to ensure they know about current threats and help them install patches.

    BIOS And pyhsical security

So here is a question. I started reading up on some papers from NIST about security that were recently updated and was wondering if anyone else here locks down their BIOS or takes any other security measures as far as physical based security or do people generally just focus on the software side?

Why I hate proprietary/closed WP plugins

Wake up to a ticket at 4am for WP help on a shared plan. Spent an hour with the client but never found any documenation nor any install guides. The developers website was a sign-up with an e-mail so we can spam you(as it was a marketing type plugin I can probably assume this as true). Due to...

    WHT Down Again - DNS

Why I love VPSB so much. We have in-depth talks from real working professionals here working toward a common goal without having to swim in a pool of phirana getting bit. I've known several Corp. members who actually canceled their WHT subscriptions just because posting there is such a risk of...

    Stock Market

I was playing around with STX, SBUX, SLV, and COOL. SLV took a nice spike back in 2011 I think it was. I enjoyed when it jumped a few $ in a day. I've found STX and SBUX to be great long term steady growers.

Thoughts on Provider -> Customer notification

The only early e-mail we send out is after 3 days and it is a simple welcome and if you need any help with your service to contact us and to checkout the knowledge base. Other then that, we normally will never contact a client out of the blue.

    Time Tracking Module by Modulesgarden

Generally, we do them as work is completed. In some cases we will do it in bulk or tally everything up by the week or month. We leave it up to the business on how they want hourly work invoices to come in. Some will prefer we do them by every days end.

    Time Tracking Module by Modulesgarden

We do work for businesses by the hour but we keep it simple. We do the work. Say what we did on the invoice. Calcuate the cost based on time. Bill. Done. Do not really see a point for a module that does it.
