    Anything under RAID 10 for a VPS Host Node is stupid. Raid 5 will be nothing but trouble for you. Avoid and just get a RAID 10 and a decent raid card.

    Compile. Custom flags more fine tuned setup. Upgrading is just as easy as using packages via source.

     And you can cache dynamic content which is amazing too. True. I forgot about that. Generally, you normally do not SSL the entire site, only the login parts for example, which can be pushed directly to nginx. I've not heard of Pound, I will for sure try that out.

    Why not just front-end with Varnish caching? Why not look into verbose logging to see what is causing the PHP 100% CPU usage? Curious though as to what the configuration settings are.

I've found some on Google but due to mixed results, I can not be sure how reliable they are at debugging a DNS issue with a new client. From what they have said, they changed their DNS over 3 days...

    Done this same type of task but for business networks. Would take on this project but it would have to be in the XXXX range. That is a very cool idea. EvE Online is awesome.

    Firewalls are more ACL then keeping a system safe. The only way a firewall will technically keep you safe is if you are running a service that you want to control access to. If you run a service that is publicly open then the safety comes down to how secured that service is.

    CSF is very easy to learn and use. However, for advanced commands, you will need to learn IPTables which is good to learn.
