I've actually made something like this for myself, lists Provider, Disk, Memory, Virtualization, IP, Price, Term, Hostname. With a little work it might be github-able, didn't think anyone would be interested as it's pretty much just a bootstrap spread sheet.

I haven't seen anyone mention SolidExplorer, it's the best file manager I've found so far and it supports FTP/SFTP/WebDAV.

You really can't go wrong with a Nexus 7, you can find first gen's on sale for pretty cheap but I would probably spring for the 2013 version as it's worth it for the true HD screen.

Sounds like the cPanel forums to me.  For me the main difference is that Debian packages are much older, so if you need anything cutting edge you need to build it or use an alternate repo like DotDeb.  There's some other quirks like Java and Iceweasel but it's mostly the same, much like Canada...
