I finally decided to review my CCTV footage

From someone with many CCTVs... Get an air cleaner. Within a day or two, you'll probably see them go away. You're probably seeing the IR LEDs reflect dust. As they come closer to the camera, they appear larger.  Older, hardwired CCTV setups (mostly BNC) are more susceptible to these. Add any...

FortressITX (DedicatedNow/SolarVPS) Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

I'm betting the only thing that comes out of this un-touched is SolarVPS and assets, which probably doesn't have Jay's name on it for good reason. That's probably the only profitable arm since DedicatedNOW tried going high-end (missstakeeee)

FortressITX (DedicatedNow/SolarVPS) Files for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

They screwed back NAC.net back in the day and tried to play big-boy data center after stealing IPs via injunction, but it didn't last. When I was with DedicatedNOW it was a bit of a joke, the hand scanners weren't plugged in, 1 guy there at night who didn't know much of what was going on. This...

Hmmm, why did my IPv6 stop working recently? Oh, because I was only asking for a /64 from their rout

Cable is 12 month plans, but you aren't in a contract. That's simply when they jack up the prices.  The SB6141 is what I had in Denver, but as I guessed, I had the 'Blast' $10/extra per month to get 60 down / 10 up on v4. Seems like they have uncapped v6, per se with the new speed tier.  Here...

Hmmm, why did my IPv6 stop working recently? Oh, because I was only asking for a /64 from their rout

@KuJoe I got 60 down / 12 up in Denver, due to their competitive CenturyLink speeds. If you pay $10 extra per month, your v4 speeds should match your v6, I'm guessing you aren't on Blast, but getting Blast speeds over v6.  Nice speed test tool BTW, never was able to test v4 / v6 before. ...

Again?  http://bgp.he.net/AS55286 That's them. Single homed to ColoCrossing with WHOIS at the CC 'datacenter'  - 311,000+ IPs as of today.  They've been the ColoCrossing IP collector brand (250k -> 300k) since mid-2013. Guess that's when CC got their /14 and it was harder to get more...

VPN.sh Launching New VPN brand FixedRoute

CC will have v6 before you fix the service properly. Really cute and all, but been hearing this for months. I remember the time things weren't fixed because of a car park fire.  BTW, If you don't expect links to be followed, don't mass mail the URL out.  Really don't want to laugh at the...

    Come on IPv4, be better.

Things have been fine in Denver. Still rebooting the modem daily to see if I get the bump to 105Mbps on Blast so Comcast can stay fairly competitive with CenturyLink's new gig offering.

Put varnish in front of Apache, it works - quite well.  Have apache listen on 8082 etc, then Varnish takes the hit on port 80. Study up on varnish configuration to keep ~ a gig or so in cache.

Internet routing table breaks 512,000 routes

+1 on what Francisco said. With older 6500 series and ISPs re-allocating TCAM to keep up with v4, hard limiting v6 routes = no v6. ' Especially once you can't fit the full v6 routing table once it's widely deployed.
