    Failure rate on harddrives

100% is the failure rate, eventually. ;-) Personal favourite are the Seagate Constellations and Cheetahs, personally don't like WD much and haven't really seen good deals on Samsung HDD's here. Hitachi well, it's a hit and miss for me, got a few dozen of them, most are solid but have seen a few...

    Ulta low power TI LaunchPad

Interesting, what can it do that an Arduino can't though? I haven't read the website properly, so I might be missing the point.

Do you guys use FraudRecord or similar blacklists?

I contribute to it, but so far all the spammers/abusers I've had aren't on Fraudrecord. But hopefully it'll get built up soon.

VPS tracking tool / online account tool - self hosted

NodeQuery is a new project which is pretty awesome, and works well for me, nice UI and the tracking module is very simple (so you can check the code easily and make sure only the data needed is what is collected and sent) and has a nice GUI. Unfortunately, not self-hosted, if pricing is imposed...

    Favorite server location?

Central London of course, my own colocation. Network wise can't be beaten on my home connection. Not really keen on many other locations, Germany is decent with Accelarated and ProviderService, and for 'merrika favourites are Choopa and PhoniexNap, good EU connectivity.

Corgi Tech - New Years Special. VPS Nodes from $7/Month for Life

I love how the website has a picture of the London eye, might aswell put a picture of Legoland or something, much more relevant to Berkshire. :P

    [UK] 2 x Quad Core Intel , 72GB RAM, 4 x 1TB Drives, HW Raid + BBU - $249 / month

Out of curiosity what facility is it? You mentioned Rapidswitch, but they don't really have a large presence in London although some of the brands of their parent company iomart do. The test IP you have on your website is in their "DC5" which a quick search shows is in Maidenhead, not London...

Do you use the default WHMCS Support system?

Eh, when Joel put ArcticDesk on LEB, it was terribly buggy. I don't see myself trying that out anytime soon, perhaps give it another year or so until it's more developed. Also, I don't see any reason for the WHMCS system not to work fine.

    04Jan Outage

Of course, my bad, what I meant was basically, you of all people should be able to tell that it's probably originally due to 'other reasons', rather than originating by an electrical fault. That is unless there were fewer strands in that part of the cable for example then it's possible. ;-)

Yeah not good, that looks like it can barely take an amp safely. I would just buy a bunch of my own rather than using the DCs, they probably got those straight from China probably with fake EC compliance labels etc. ;p Sent from my GT-I8190N using Tapatalk

Yeah, cables don't burn out like that. It would be uniform otherwise, likely not stared by an electrical fault but outside influence as mentioned. The charring would be as a result of the cut and probably some arcs and sparks. Btw. Might be a bit more organised if you used them APC strip ones...

    VPN service / provider recommendations

EarthVPN probably are one of your best bets if you want lots of locations. VPN.SH is decent too, Liam's a decent bloke and I'm sure he runs a good show although I haven't tried it.

Is there any easy way to do this? (Netflix)

If it was just about the website itself, you could've done some magic in nginx but since it involves content that is in a CDN that would be hard. As far as I'm aware the only real way is a tunnelled connection e.g. VPN etc. I hate squid but you could always use some sort of squid proxy that only...

List of VPS/Dedi providers using Colo Crossing

Nah, Jack is annoying full stop. Hehe. That was a bit of a joke, but the point was that I did and organized the majority of his offers for some reason or another. Jack was never bad, he's just a bit of a tool, but that's expected of northerners.. That's because me and Liam actively searched out...
