Tunneling traffic through VPS versus VPN service

Here at our offices we use pfSense as our main router on a server and run our OpenVPN connections directly through it on our laptops. Great security and we can access everything and anything locally on our network all while being out and about. Personally, won't ever use a 3rd party VPN...

    Any wine drinkers?

We are in the same boat. I don't know that much about wine types and all but when I get free time I have done some research up on the kinds and how some are designed to age, others drink now and some need to be aired. It's an interesting little hobby as I call it. There is just something fun...

    Any wine drinkers?

Just curious if anyone here is a wine drinker or collector? I've recently started to collect and have used them as gifts to clients. So far they have been well received. Anyone more a fan of red, white or rose?

    Portable Virtual Optical Drives

I just personally don't like having 30 USB drives on me and having to burn or copy as required if I was to carry just one or two. Found this for those still interested: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008S4XY08 EDIT: Thanks to whoever just told me about this...

    Portable Virtual Optical Drives

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817379026 Anyone know of other products like this one? When you carry several bootable cds/dvds something like this would be awesome. However, this one I've read some on and off reviews about it.

Free Windows Server license with .edu address

Another nice thing about having contracts with the school systems. Signed up using my district e-mail and got access. Hello free stuff! EDIT: Mine was not an .edu so as long as it is from an official education system, it seems to work.

Anyone had any luck with support lately or did everyone ditch whmcs these days? Found some bugs and I've yet to get replies back from them.

Watch out for your IPMI or KVM-over-IP

Lets also not forget about when a data center gives IPMI/KVM access to wrong servers or allows access to others all over one network. Its surprising how often that happens.

Providers: Do You Send An RFO Email If Your Network Has 5 Minutes of Packet Loss?

We typically do only due to the fact that we offer all clients hosted with us a monitoring service that monitors all their servers from a remote location down to the services and because they would notice that little gap we send out an e-mail to effected users before we get e-mails asking.

    ZyXEL Anyone?

I have considered pfSense actually. But the hard part I've found is actually finding hardware worth using without having to build an actual server or something. So thanks for that link for sure! But I agree the big problem with a lot of this propriety hardware is they EOL it so you have to buy...

    ZyXEL Anyone?

Does anyone have any experience with ZyXEL firewall/vpn products? If so how did you like them and how well did they work for the tasks at hand? For example: http://www.zyxelguard.com/ZyWALL-USG100.asp Many of the small businesses we manage are looking for VPN access and additional security...

Would anyone else like this idea?

Already got that planned out. It's a very simple fix which makes client management easy and you can easily management them separately. If you ever uninstall the app you can simply pull them all out of the phone ;)

Would anyone else like this idea?

Coding a WHMCS plugin that would output client's into an XML file that can be imported into contact lists like SAGE ACT and Android/Apple phones, ect... so you can better keep in contact with clients and even tell when your new clients call in. Started on the Android side of things just curious...
