We get intermittent complaints about this from our KVM customers. Sometimes, randomly, the reboot command indeed shuts it down. This only seems to happen with Centos. What runlevel are you on when the system is up and running?

TBH, when it's slow, it seems to be more system related than network related. I mean that, there's a delay, and then everything 'pops' instantly, like the system processing is getting overloaded. Not necessarily that there's a network issue somewhere.

I would imagine that it's to effect quality. There's a massive pile of other hosts offering 'regular' service in his locations, but no hosts offering storage-only (except for Buffalo). Better to do one thing really well than be mediocre at everything.
