Share a website that's not of the "big ten"

http://trakt.tv/ A great website for fellow TV/movie addicts. Lets you discuss and rate series and movies, maintain watchlists, track progress of watched episodes and more. I've been using it for a bit over a year now and I love, especially it's recommendations feature. It has apps for most...

[Market Research] For People in Europe or Near Europe - Would you buy 500GB in the US or 250GB in EU

I haven't noticed any storage offers from Prometeus/IperWeb for a while either. I managed to get a 200GB plan on April 1., but soon thereafter, I noticed they have withdrawn the storage offers. As it looks now, they are not offering any, but I might just be blind.

How do you track your own VPS collection

I just made a simple spreadsheet using Google Docs and fill that up with the basic information every time I make a new order. I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but so far it's worked just fine for a small number of VPSs.

    PremiumVM - Limited Special - 128MB @ $1.25 - 1GB @ $4 - 2GB @ $6

There's hardly any bumping going on, since the thread does not actually move anywhere in the list. As a provider, do yourself a favor and contact the moderators if you believe something is not in order instead of poking other providers for the way they conduct their business.

[Market Research] For People in Europe or Near Europe - Would you buy 500GB in the US or 250GB in EU

Personally I don't care that much where my storage server is located, as long as it performs well. I'd go for the US location.

    1GB RAM $5/m | 2GB RAM $7/m | Crissic Solutions, LLC

Might want to change that to the 75GB we actually get.

    Thoughts on Newegg

I envy everyone who gets to use Newegg, wish there was a similar alternative here.

What do you use your Raspberry Pi for?

Not sure if this counts, but I've just set an old MicroSD card up with Raspbian, cross compiled the Armory Bitcoin client for ARM and am using it as a cold storage Bitcoin wallet. Just an idea, if anyone was thinking about anything similar. The Raspberry is great for this purpose because you...

    Dwolla

I managed to find some with a quick search, but as I don't use WHMCS myself, I don't know if they're actually functional. On another note, I have only just noticed Dwolla is US only, which is somewhat of a shame.

    Dwolla

I've recently stumbled upon a site accepting donations via Dwolla and apparently they have lower fees than PayPal. Has anyone tried them out before or is currently using them? What kind of experiences have you had with them? From what I gathered, they charge 25 cents per transaction with...

Continuation of DotVPS brand - HTTP Group Proposed Take Over Cancelled

I'm actually somewhat glad about this. I picked up one of the DotVPS offers on LET that was posted by the HTTPGroup representative and from reading their comments, they seemed like they didn't know what they were selling - made me a tad suspicious. We'll see what kind of an impression I get of...

What do you use your Raspberry Pi for?

I tried RaspBMC during it's early stages, but have later switched over to Xbian, which has been performing great. I'm running it on a Model B though and I haven't tried network streaming yet, I've been using a USB key. I got mine from ModMyPi. It's fairly sturdy and it looks nice enough. I got...

    Linode Managed! Very reasonably priced!

Personally I have no need for such services, but I consider the term managed very specific and I expect whoever is advertising such a service to take complete care of my servers. If I have to login and do things myself - even if it only involves minute tasks - then it should only be considered...

    Linode Managed! Very reasonably priced!

Except it's not fully managed like that, at least from what I gathered from their website.

    Credit Cards

You should look into setting a daily limit on your bank account and since the card is linked, to the Visa. It only takes a minute or two to change that limit if you ever find yourself in need of making a larger purchase and it might offer you some peace of mind. That and SMS notifications of...
