The truth about Mao and BuyVM

Screenshot and post Fran's threat if it exists. If no one posts any proof to back up their accusations (proof of Mao using multiple identities) then it is better if everyone just stays quiet because this conversation is going nowhere.

The truth about Mao and BuyVM

These threads have just gotten pathetic. People need to move on and make this site a less bitter place to be in. As right as you might feel, writing essays in your replies is a turn off on LET and your association to Prometeus when you write utter crap on LET should be a source of embarrassment...

    The Good VPS Provider thread

Ramnode: I'm surprised they haven't barred me for asking so many stupid questions and being incredibly lazy in settling invoices.  Afterburst/FanaticalVPS: Went above and beyond in being willing to help me fix some of the mistakes I committed when I knew close to nothing in being able to manage...

What are your favorite VPS related websites?

I'm honestly surprised at how many tutorials and what not DigitalOcean has. Most of my problems have been solved by simply consulting them.

There won't be a spin. Simply bans and closing of the thread.

Datacenter locations and companies I don't like.

Yes, it'd be better if you could provide an explanation instead of just arbitrarily naming hosts. For instance, I could say stay away from http://directspace.net/ -- Portland, Oregon -- because they're shady as hell and simply Googling them would tell you so. That'd be more than what you wrote...

Issues when using Chrome & VPSBoard

Same thing happened to me initially when I switched IPs back and forth and their filtering wasn't too happy about it. Never experienced a problem ever since.

Running a lightweight GUI on your vps

4.x currently just seems like such a pain in the arse to get up and running, thanks for the script @nunim, my lazy ass can't be bothered to spend so much time trying to get things functioning as desired.

Best Linux OS for desktop use?

Hmmm you guys are giving me ideas. I'm curious, what do you all think of Fedora? I've used it before but got fed up with some of the glitches I experienced so I went back to Debian.

    Backupsy dumps Colocrossing :)

This is why people shouldn't come to any conclusions before someone steps in to explain themselves.

By hot new distro do you mean a distro that hipsters are currently in love with? https://www.archlinux.org/

Running a lightweight GUI on your vps

Tried XFCE and LXDE simply to see which one seemed to be less of a resource hog (this clearly wasn't an exhaustive test) than the other and it seemed like LXDE won that 'competition'.

Running a lightweight GUI on your vps

How did you manage to grab 3.5? Is there any way that this script could be updated or if you would kindly send me the link? http://lowendtalk.com/discussion/3603/remote-desktop-vps     :(

Same here, Chrome just seems to lag for me while I have absolutely no problem with Firefox.

What vps do you have and what are you doing with them?

There was a time where I used to have a vps with EDIS, BuyVM, Prometeus, and co but I'm proud that I've cut down my use to a single VPS. 1x Ramnode 256 KVM SSD-Cached VPS (CKVM-E5) - Seattle - 256MB CKVM-E5 - IRC, OpenVPN server. I used dedicated servers for other purposes.

    RamNode OpenVZ SSD-Cached 256MB (ATL)

It's not just the performance but the vibe of professionalism I don't get from many other providers.
