    Dedicated Minds Service Migration

As an owner of a BMW and a Toyota... point made ;) It's got a marketing value to "NYC" but from a practical network standpoint, it's no different. Light moves pretty darn quick (unlike my Toyota Prius)

The form factor is similar but there are major differences in batteries based upon their use pattern. Different construction, fluids/gels/acids, pole types, connection methods, etc, etc.

Buying HDD's in USA? Recommendations needed

If you are buying a small quantity, I have found that to be true on personal purchases. Typically we purchase from distributors but from time to time the Egg has the best pricing and a distributor won't match. In those instances when you buy drives by the case, they ship them in the factor...

Just to make a small notation, from a network standpoint our location in Clifton and soon also Weehawken may as well be NYC. You are within 15 miles (driving, not straight line) of NYC proper. From a network standpoint you are < 0.5ms from NYC. You get the savings of cheaper power, cheaper taxes...

If they are running, he won't be at his desk. 3rd floor is a local county government office, they don't have a generator :)

The generator is in a sound attenuation enclosure as well as everything is mounted on vibration dampers, our other generator is located on the 4th floor directly above this one. I would be more worried about the poor guy who's office is in between our 4th and 2nd floor generators ;)

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

That explains it then, new pricing + smartnet without much of a discount.   As an aside I've worked with hardware placement in the cisco broker channel for the better part of 10 years now with very large cisco partners so I understand the discount levels and what things can actually be...

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

Certainly if you are single homed to a carrier (even if you have multiple uplinks to them) it is pointless to take full tables unless you really want to mess with aspaths for some odd reason (maybe tag different communities based upon prefix destination as?)  Now, any time you move to more than...

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

Not trying to discredit you or anything but those prices are high even by the standards of back then. I mean in 2006 when we got our first 6500 with 2 x 16-port 1g (gbic) blades and 2 x 48-port 1g (copper) and sup720-3bxl it was only $19k. Later when we added on 2 more SUP720's ran about 7k...

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

I can easily clear that up for you :) ColoCrossing is only a client in our Atlanta location as is publicly known. We are not a "man in the middle" in any facility for them, they are only with us in the facility in which we wholly operate it. I think they work solely with facility operators. IE...
