I am partial to a combination between VPSLeaks and lowendscum. I like to call it "lowendleaks.com"

URPad Feels Your Pain... Hires (More) Support Staff.

If thats the case, thats pretty awesome, hopefully more companies start doing that.  I don't see how that is a good thing, I think the fact that we have made it an acceptable practice is what makes the high turnover rate. If people get paid decently maybe they would be willing to do a better job?

Feathur Launch (VPS Control Panel => 0.6.0.1 => Free For Private Use)

I second this suggestion too after thinking about it for a bit. I think you would have better luck developing a simple way to theme Feathur so companies can match the look of their site easily. I personally think BlueVM's Feathur would look nice with a dark theme to match their site, a candy...

URPad Feels Your Pain... Hires (More) Support Staff.

Since I can't edit my post I'll just add on here, Wouldn't it be more acceptable to pay say 4 people a living (hourly) wage instead of paying 18 people to fight over tickets and end up with almost nothing at the end of the week?

VPS provider with cheap cPanel licenses?

I think BuyCPanel has been cracking down on providers offering external licenses lower than 14.95 a month as they loose profit.

    Running your own zpanel instance

Could a mixture of mod_security, SELinux/Apparmor, suhosin php make up for the lack of security in zPanel or at least added layers of protection? I have pretty much seen ISPConfig3 as the top recommended replacement for cpanel. Kloxo-MR coming in a close second.

PHP - optimization/limiting RAM - low RAM use

I'd recommend using a reverse proxy like nginx or varnish in conjunction with a PHP accelerator like xCache. You can also decrease the PHP memory limits in the php.ini file.

    Securing VNC (fail2ban?)

the "VNC" protocol is insecure itself. Generally the recommendation is to use SSH tunneling, that adds the layer of security you are looking for as well as encapsulating the VNC protocol within SSH.

Who uses Stripe for payments? Beware, they seem to not validate cards.

I can attest that DigitalOcean uses BrainTree, so it works well for a provider of that caliber.

    OpenVZ vps disk encryption

    Afaik, no providers support Ploop.

    OpenVZ vps disk encryption

You can do encrypted files, but not an encrypted file system. That is just how OpenVZ works (by default). However, there has been a "OpenVZ Addon" if you will, that allows KVM like disk functionality with the CPU / Memory overhead of OpenVZ. http://openvz.org/Ploop/Why This *should* allow your...

DDoS is a funny joke to ColoCrossing

Who uses Stripe for payments? Beware, they seem to not validate cards.

My guess is they pre-process the transaction, then they find out later its a bad card and charge a fee to the seller.

Who uses Stripe for payments? Beware, they seem to not validate cards.

The bad thing is if stripe gets a chargeback there is a $15.00 fee, which essentially wouldnt have happened if they could verify stolen cards...
