    SSH Attacks

Maybe a Damn-Vulnerable-Linux installation on the open net ;) with something that checks the filesystem for changes then reports them occasionally. Ahh yes, Ill have to start checking the headers on my spam emails to see what kind of stuff is there! Thanks for that.

    SSH Attacks

I recently got around to setting up "Logwatch" on a few of my servers, and I found it interesting to see how many times a day our servers get attempted SSH authentication. The usernames seem to be quite random, though the IP addresses used are 90% of the time from China. This got me thinking...

Which OS do you use and why?

Desktop: Windows 7 Pro for online courses / gaming / general software. Servers: Cent-OS instead of Debian because I was given a few free Fedora/Cent-OS books a few years back.

Is there a GUI tool to copy data between servers?

Been doing some work with LFTP, works really well, takes about 60 seconds to download 2,200 files at 1gb total. lftp -u username hostname password mirror -P 20 -v /source /destination/on/local/ Couple commands I use to duplicate minecraft servers between eachother, works for making backups...

    Looking for VPS reseller

OVH is probably one of the cheapest dedicated providers, you may be well off getting your own panel and just installing it on the baremetal hardware. Maybe Proxmox would suffice for your usage as a panel.

High availability feasible for low cost?

I would think this would work, but if you think about it several providers had problems with the SolusVM issues. If you just happened to be unlucky you could loose both pieces of each HA area. Also, having a high priced host doesn't make a user exempt from these issues, Zero-Day exploits are...

VPSBoard $8 ~ 2 GB KVM Deal -- Exclusive Offer (Colo Crossing)

Probably signifies that its vpsBoard exclusive. Hmm I see what you mean, I was able to tell it was BlueVM by the avatar. Edit: Great deal by the way, I'm starting to see that 2gb KVM is coming around 7$.

    Mac Pro .. thoughts?

Just think about what happens if this type of design takes off, especially in contrast to the extremely sharp lines of the Xbox and PS4.  Who knows, could be a shift in the aesthetics of computing from boxes to cylinders.

Is there a GUI tool to copy data between servers?

Doesn't Win-SCP allow tunnels between 2 servers for transfer between said servers while being controlled from a windows client.

    Best vps tutorial site?

Just like linode's library, digitalocean has a pretty good one too. https://www.digitalocean.com/community Very community oriented guides it seems as mistakes are pointed out and fixed fairly quickly.

    Fliphost LA SSD KVM Beta

Yeah the network I/O seems to be pretty sporadic at the moment so I'll probably wait to continue benchmarking, however the disk seems to be fairly fast, I was getting something like 930MB/s. What kind of disk setup are you running?

What reinstalls/CD options are you planning to add in the future. One odd thing I did notice is that the SSH password I entered during checkout / got an email containing didn't work but a quick re-install fixed that problem. Edit: Seems that the CentOS 6.4 Minimal does not install properly. I...

    phpMyAdmin Security

Couldn't a fail2ban rule be created to block anyone who tries to access multiple directories that don't exist.  I'm curious how this could be prevented too.

    New design, looking for feedback

Looking pretty good, I love the Google map on the contact page, it looks different. You may want to mark the location of the DC on the map, just as something small. I saw some people on HN working on a flat design of Google maps, maybe that would look...

Setting up development environment for PHP+MySQL using VirtualBox

As @walesmd mentioned it seems that Vagrant is the new standard for developing on windows due to the portability it provides. You could also use Cloud9 IDE + Appfog for an entire development platform in the cloud so its platform independent while being collaborative.
