    LunaNode being booted from SingleHop

That is a real shame.  What is the consensus on BurstNET?  Good?  Bad?

    24khost, where are you?

Dude, you are way too angry given your third-party relationship with this event.  Chill out.  All you have to go on is heresay.

Stallion 2 - pictures and daily updates :)

FWIW, a lot of Code Igniter users have found their way to Laravel. I would recommend against Code Igniter because, last I heard, Ellis Lab still controls it, but they tried to give up control many months ago.  No one stepped up to take over.  The framework is without strong leadership right now.

    Anyone using Laravel framework?

I'm a fan of Laravel.  The community is very welcoming and the framework is powerful but approachable.

    CentOS 6.5 out now

Word of warning, I attempted an update to 6.5 on an OpenVZ container running on the 2.6.18 kernel (I believe that means the host node is using RHEL5) and the network ceased functioning.  I did a reinstall and the network resumed working until I attempted another 6.5 upgrade.  That may just be me...

    HDMI Switcher with network capabilities.

I suspect that will never exist because of HDCP protection.

How did they get it so wrong? HealthCare.gov

Someone in Washington thought they could simply will this site into existence.  Their naiveté bit them in the ass. The longer version is that they designed a system that touches too many other government systems.  Integrating them all is no mean feat.  Hubris and government bureaucracy kept...

BTC, NMC, IXC, DVC - Opinions

I am bearish on all digital currencies.  The barrier to entry to invent a competitor is too low, as we are already seeing a proliferation of alternatives.  I think they will end up diluting the value of one another.

    PCI Compliant Hosting

Only Stripe can answer your question.  All you are likely to get here is speculation.

    Any Ruby fans?

Perl is not amused :D (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/There%27s_more_than_one_way_to_do_it)

    Any Ruby fans?

Umm...ok.  One of those is a markup language and the other is a programming language, so I'm not sure how you are comparing them.

    PCI Compliant Hosting

A PCI compliant datacenter/host is only a small part of being PCI compliant.  Of course, what being PCI compliant requires depends on what you are planning to do.

Who has the longest running hard drive?

I have an old Pentium 3 box acting as a server that is about due for replacement, but before it goes, I thought I would check some stats on it.  The machine has two 80GB Western Digital disks in RAID 1.  According to SMART, one of them has 72135 power on hours and the other has 64727 power on...

I'm sure some of us will see a hurting if this gets passed...

Verizon and AT&T already get loads of money from their subscribers for internet access.  WTF makes them think they get to double charge!?  The nerve of those people is astounding.

Who uses Stripe for payments? Beware, they seem to not validate cards.

This is probably just a sign of what is to come now that Paypal owns them: http://techcrunch.com/2013/09/26/paypal-acquires-payments-gateway-braintree-for-800m-in-cash/.

PHP - optimization/limiting RAM - low RAM use

You shouldn't be so worried about disabling swap completely.  Just set the swappiness low and let the system handle it.  Completely disabling swap can actually reduce system performance because data that is never accessed is forced to be kept in RAM instead of being swapped out to make more room...

PHP - optimization/limiting RAM - low RAM use

Are you using a fixed  or dynamic number of children?  Maybe too many are being spawned in a short period of time and using too much memory.  Also, PHP 5.4 significantly improved memory consumption, so you should run it or 5.5 if you aren't.

    Generic Load Logger..

    Don't you need to put my $time = strftime("%a, %d %b %Y %H:%M:%S %z", localtime(time())) . "\n"; and my ( $l1, $l5, $l15 ) = Unix::Uptime->load(); inside the while loop?

Colocrossing's Core "Router" is a Switch

I still don't understand how, in the first post, hop 5 is the same each time, but it is different after that point.  Isn't it up to telia which route is taken after hop 5?  How can CC determine (influence) the route of the packet beyond the first router?
