Oh snap you got a heatsink for your raspberry pi? How good is it? is it worth it?

How do you make custom OpenVZ templates?

Minimal only has the barebones whereas standard frequently contains additional applications such as Apache and the such.  In my opinion, they should deliver all templates as minimal.  Also get the occasional "you're a scam!  I've never had apache preinstalled on my server from so and so!"...

    IPv6 at Home?

Yeah it'd be nice if this was a linux router.  It was a dd-wrt router that just was infuriating for me to configure.

    IPv6 at Home?

Setup a IPv6 Tunnel via HE.  Added about 100 ms more to Google, in addition I got Google Japan geo-location.  Got rid of it. I want to use IPv6 as a fallback, not as the primary.  However, since that can't be done at the router-side (and by that I mean my home router side), I got rid of it and...

    Building an energy efficient computer/workstation?

Without going into specific research, how about the Atom C2750?   The base board itself is 360 dollars.  Just need some RAM, you already have the video cards (assuming you'll be moving the video cards from your previous setup), get four 2 GB DDR3 sticks of RAM (20 dollars each, 80 dollars...

Should each website on a VPS have it's own IP?

How do you remember your username? Like...  Sorry but it just looks like a giant grouping of random characters.  Almost as if it was a password.

Should each website on a VPS have it's own IP?

No it's not needed thanks to VirtualHost.

GreenHostBox changing name and kicking all vps customers

What the. That's pretty ridiculous.  At least offer partial refund to services still have yet to be received.   Or sell off that customer base to another company. I don't know... I kinda find this very weird and strange.

GVH former head guy Eric Walstrom Charged for Hacking His High School

Changing your school grades is tampering with documentation. It's a breach of academic integrity and of course the Students Code of Conduct. It's also on par/similar to hacking Sony or any company really. Therefore it falls under criminal intent as well. You get fucked from all ends if you mess...

Renting vs Owning Hardware: Things to Consider

Oh yeah @mikeyur. The biggest limitation on those L5420 boxes is the power consumption. The power consumption in those babies aren't cheap so unless you get cheap power more than likely you won't be using them long-term. I've seen some people say "If I'm going to pay 50 dollars a month to colo...

    So much to do!

Back when I worked for my university ITS, we had our own internal wiki plus an internal communication software.   At Catalyst we have an internal wiki (been a little neglected), but since it's only two people it's mostly just HipChat and Skype.   JIRA is nice, but is very coder-focused iirc...

Looking for a cheap yearly VPS with IPv6 and peers with HE and Cogent

Hm... I've seen many people have HE or Cogent but not both.  WSI has Cogent and HE but only on IPv6 (IPv4 is HE only).
