Office365 is hard to battle with money wise. We are having the same issues with our customers, but we actually landed a good deal last week. A customer migrating FROM office365 to a on-premises exchange server and we got the contract of doing it. Feels good :)

If it was breaking of the TOS it probably would have been cancelled when sending out the email. Here they give until the end of billing period. Could be that they didn't like the bandwidth usage or leaving that location.

Perhaps hou should take a look at phonefactor? I think it needs windows to run the acent on but you can implement it on most servers. It doesn't require a smartphone, it van instead call you when you log in and you authenticate using that phonecall. Or use text messages instead.

I think there shouldn't be a classification on high or low end. If the provider knows what they are doing the end user wont notice if it's oversold or not. If you really need a classification, it should be on the virtualization used.

Never heard of a hijack like this before. Not surprised on the setup, meaning it's not the only place that allows for updates without requesting confirmation. One should learn atleast one new thing each day. This was mine for today.

Tha case with ubuntu is that if you can do it in the gui, do it or face the consequences. I think Ubuntu does like windows does and have cronjob that compares current config against the saved config, if it's different, revert to the saved config.

I usually end up with a thank you reply and a comment on how the ticket was handled. Then I close it myself. That little extra, even if not read by the person behind it, could help me or the provider the next time I needed to submit a ticket.
