    DigitalOcean New York City 3

I'm in a Hotel in NYC right now.  This Hotel WiFi sucks butts.   http://bgp.he.net/AS18566 (apparently service is provided by Design Communications Inc) RamNode: average of 203 ms (50 ms when traced???) I think it's the WiFi router being all whack.  City College of New York seems to have...

    Backup Network anyone?

Haha it seems 3G/4G is pretty common for folks here!  Satellite isn't that bad of an option in my opinion, but I'm not too sure how expensive it'd be to maintain it as a backup option!  Benefit of unlimited data on a family plan is that you can setup an old device as the backup system and share...

    Backup Network anyone?

With more and more jobs/work/shenanigans based on the internet or work-at-home scenarios, I was wondering what do you have (for those of you who are working at home) to make sure you can clock in everyday?  Do you have an additional service from another company you use as a backup network...

How did you come up with your company name?

Toastry Boom.  Trademark avoided.   I'd like my money in cash please.

    Been a while...

Wow man that's terrible!  What's going on now then?  Did you lose your full-time job because of this?  Did you have insurance?

    Travelling Security

So...  I'm doing a bit of travelling again!  I'm reporting live from an open WiFi access point in a hotel room!  Woo hoo!  I'm currently using a VPN and all that jazz at the moment to encrypt my traffic and hopefully not have anyone sniffing my packets, but what else is there to protecting your...

Things that happen or annoy you in this industry...

And then they claim "well it's so cheap, I don't have anything to lose" and then a few days later "they scammed me!" Stop the waterworks.  You were warned going in.

Have you ever been given more resources then you paid to receive?

Yeah I've had this happen once when ordering a computation node with Datashack a while back. Ordered 4 GBs of RAM, got 8 GBs.  Funny thing though, I only fully used up like 2GB Max.

    32MB Club: Now self sustaining

@mtwiscool, being profitable isn't industry news.  Also general financial information is something you DON'T want everyone to know.   This is your second warning about using vpsBoard to announce every single change to your "company" (seriously, with the frequency of you changing plans and...

Using several virtual servers for to tunnel traffic?

I think you can probably do something like this with Softether but I'm not too sure.

I think we've all long suspected that KuJoe worked for the NSA...

Haha! Totally unrelated, there's a baseball team in Korea named the SK Wyverns

    OVH vs Hetzner dedi

I've never actually used Hetzner, but from what I can tell they're pretty nice and decent with everything. As a user, I know there's a popular MMOBG hosted on three Hetzner dedicated servers. They rarely have downtimes and packetloss has been pretty minimal (except for isolated incidents), and...

BitCoin in the hosting industry case study... who wants to partake?

I'd be down with helping out on the scientific process part, you know... being a scientist and all ;)

    Real-time Global DDOS Map

Haha I can agree with that. Although again I wouldn't be too surprised if the US was the major target for everyone. Remember this is apparently only 2% of all attack. Honestly though, I think it's just for show really. If we could get access to the actual data available then I'd love to get...

My bad.  Yeah I edited my initial post.  I was mostly just scanning over it.

    Xen HVM <> KVM

How?  Why?  What's the difference between KVM and Xen PVHVM that this situation is true? (sorry just asking for more detail)

    Might be moving soon.

Hello @mtwiscool, Please stop using vpsBoard as your own private blog and as a place to announce every single change to your "company" within every hour.
