ColoCrossing, Quick to Get Large IP Blocks Issued and Faster to Soil Them

If people don't want to wake up and find that the entire /24 their website is hosted on has been blacklisted and their emails are being blocked then they should choose their providers more carefully and only choose providers who proactively fight spam (see example #2 below) and avoid those...

    Burst.net Continues their Implosion!

...and ChicagoVPS got hacked last June and went from 300 nodes to 110 overnight.  ...and the 14 year old who claimed to own a data center on his home page sold his 10 customers at the end of the summer and canceled his $49 Datashack L5420 tl;dr Burst never had 30K customers and suffers from...

Tunneling traffic through VPS versus VPN service

"not so much" blacklisting and packet loss depends on which VPS provider you choose. :) VPN services can also suffer from overloading at peak use times (difficulty connecting, slow network speeds, etc). me > openvpn on a VPS in the same city for daily use and EarthVPN for when I want a VPN in...

Who is going to disappear first - Burst.net/DigiPlus vs. volumeDrive

Not a chance in hell of Burst suing VD because they know VD could turn around and file a far larger suit  (and win) against Burst for tortious interference due to ex-CEO Shawn's postings on WHT during the VD move. Bone headed moves as far as some of the current customers and staff are concerned...

    Burst.net Continues their Implosion!

If I had to make a guess I'd say a large share of the PA based lower level staff will be replaced and given notice they're being terminated very soon. One of the reasons for the short notice about the move may be the new management wanted to minimize the risk of sabotage/theft by keeping about...

Burst.net emailed their dedicated and VPS clients today:  tl;dr the network situation in Scranton sucks beyond repair, everyone is moving to North Carolina.on Saturday night/Sunday morning (2-3 days notice).; 13-15 hours of downtime, 20% credit on April invoices for the "inconvenience"...

RamNode looking for a new panel

I prefer OpenStack.  I've been beta-ing the new CloudVPS OpenStack based panel and I prefer it to CloudStack but CloudVPS is using the Skyline Interface to OpenStack (not the stock Horizon) which they developed and contributed to the OpenStack project. video of Skyline interface...

    Burst.net Continues their Implosion!

The old CEO Shawn is still with the company and is now "heading up world-wide sales for the company." The new CEO JW Ray is also the managing partner, and founder, of the venture debt fund (Backlog Capital) that has invested in Burst. From their news page: 1/3/12 "Bustnet funded", 8/31/13...

ColoCrossing, Quick to Get Large IP Blocks Issued and Faster to Soil Them

You keep seeing BlueVM mentioned as being spam friendly because there is a constant stream of shit coming from IPs assigned to you (as well as from other "Fabozzi doesn't have any ownership interest in" providers like 123systems).  I mention BlueVM, ChicagoVPS, 123Systems, and HudsonValleyHost...

NodePacket, LLC - The Most Affordable SSD Accelerated & Pure SSD VPS's (HUGE Savings)!

Well that was quick!  The HudsonValleyHost reseller provider who thought their nodes were in NYC when they were really in Buffalo is no more. From their home page: They just had an offer on DailyServerDeals.com last week advertising a $30 E3-1240 16GB RAM server.... Chronology: 10/23/13...

    AIT "Cloud" suspends hourly billing

I never assumed that :).  I've only used AIT as a domain registrar but my interactions with AIT's (domain) customer service have left a favorable impression (unlike, let's say godaddy's customer service who seem to be copying and pasting responses)

RamNode looking for a new panel

I view the "integrating with WHMCS" request  as a negative.  He should drop WHMCS too (which has as many problems as SolusVM, if not more) and go for a panel that integrates both billing and VPS management.   There are several Solus-free WHMCS-free VPS/cloud providers with integrated panels...
