DigitalOcean to add Singapore Region by the end of January

Semi-good news.  It looks like they're still single homed to TeliaSonera. http://lg.telia.net/ .  and a lot of the tracroutes I tried from TS Singapore to other Asian locations are going through Los Angeles.  An extreme example is below: TeliaSonera Singapore  to HongKong 364ms vs OneAsiaHost's...

Today's TL;DR: GVH was forced to hire 3 more staff members today because Shovehost started a thread on LET

Oh, lookie here,  a HudsonValleyHost customer answered my question on WHT :P http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpost.php?p=8993242&postcount=16 edited to add another quote from the HVH customer:

A combination of unabashed overselling and technical incompetence.  GVH is a prime example of a host that could not exist if Solus,  CPanel and other hand holding automated tools hadn't been invented. Neither GVH nor their "upstream" HudsonValleyHost own their own IP space or network so there...

You're forgetting that Jon also thinks it is illegal for a customer to entitle a thread "GreenValueHost (not very knowledgable)" Mr Shove not too wisely wasted resources (not to mention using an incredibly insecure password), but what he did was in no way, shape, or form a DoS attack. denial...

    Anyone used Velocihost.net before ?

I think I was one of their first 10 customers.  I've been using them for almost 10 months without any problems. The service is reliable and customer support response times are very fast.  Ping time to Santiago, Chile is about 110ms, Sao Paulo 175-180ms, Buenos Aires 200ms, Costa Rica 70-80ms...

#SUCCESS #PATHETIC ...and I'm sure that Maarten willingly obliged since he seems more concerned about protecting any incompetent unethical pathetic excuse for a host who may be bringing $$$ into CC than he is with protecting consumers.

CC Buffalo down for 12 minutes?

CC's network is better than CityNet's (see here) but 12 minutes of CC network downtime in one day isn't news based on my experience with CC's network in a few locations. :P

Who the fuck are these "key people internally within our company"?  Are you hearing voices in your head as you're sitting in your parents basement typing? Burst.net emergency bailout of Dallas

I don't think it has anything to do with VD.  This is the 2nd location in the past year where they've done a short notice shutdown/migration (the other was their sale of the UK division).
