Right, I appreciate the advise, and it is indeed good advise. I probably would take it if I was a smarter guy, but I'd have no issue buying the required hardware, I'm perfectly willing to spend 15k+ usd on some okay gear if I have to. And yeah, we are hijacking it a bit, sorry about that.

Wasn't totally sure on moving them, haven't needed to do that, at least that is nice. Still isn't very "pretty" I'd say when someone looks up your IPs and sees them associated to your DC, and not your own ASN. As far as doing my own BGP, and the hardware cost, I'm not concerned, funding it out...

Yeah I do that now, however I figure having my own would be better if I ever wanted to move around and generally just have them fully associated with me. I'm not really worried about justification, I believe my need to be justified by their policies, I just didn't want to bother with the ASN...

I guess now would be the time to make an ASN and get an allocation if I ever want one.

I use Backblaze for my secondary backips besides my own NAS. I think they are pretty good, "unlimited" for 5USD a month. I have about 12TiB backed up there, and I've gotten no complaints nor any throttling. I've only done a large backup restore once, but it was about 1.3TiB and I had no issue...

Maybe support They seem to need it. I also like the Electronic Frontier Foundation as well personally.

I actually saw the same thing as above when I signed up this morning, had someone's mumble(I think) server and CC in my billing. Didn't really try to use the card, but it makes me wonder what if it did work? Not sure how I feel about giving money to them now.

Honestly, this is the most practical one. I suspect it doesn't use much on the CPU(compared to other ideas anyway), it is consistant, and probably doable as long as they don't start limiting you or whoever you are downloading it from freaks out and blocks you/removes the file. All those ideas...

Florida resident here, pretty acccurate. It has been cold one day, only to be blazing hot the next, then cold again. On and off for a few weeks now, it is quite annoying really.
