Average Results of DD

Hi.

Since I know most of you guys are performance enthusiast and probably now a lot more than me in term of VPS performance on Nodes, IO results, etc...

Hypothetically talking,  in a real world environment where there are multiple VPS on a node doing fair usage, what would be the average appropiate:

DD results with RAID10 SSD

DD results with RAID10 HD

DD results with RAID 5 SSD

DD results with RAID 5 HD

It depends on the RAID card that you use. Different RAID cards have different specs and cache capacities.

Generally, it'll be:

Read: RAID 10 SSD, RAID 5 SSD, RAID 10 HDD, RAID 5 HDD

Write: RAID 5 SSD, RAID 10 SSD, RAID 5 HDD, RAID 10 HDD.

It really depends on the grade of the drives/SSDs, the RAID itself - hardware vs software. Caching, fastpath, cachecade and etc.

Defo agree here, it depends on the grade of the drives and the RAID controller. SSD should always come out on top though.
