Looking for private 1/4 rack colo for a few backup servers in the U.S.

We are looking for a decent place for our backup servers with inexpensive bandwidth. There will be very little outgoing transfer (if any), but we must be able to push 1 gbit for short periods of time (that is, when we have to restore from backups, hopefully never...)

Power: 120V 10A

Uplink: 1 Gbe (single drop), cheap transit is fine - give us all the Cogent you got

Location: Anywhere in Canada or USA.

Long term contract is OK. Willing to pay for RH.

The goal is to get this for under $300/mo.

Dacentec would be my suggestion. I have a dedicated with them and like their network and support.

9U

10 Amps @ 120v

20TB or 100Mbps unmetered on a 1Gbps port ($1/Mbps after that)

/27 IPv4 (/64 of IPv6 upon request)

Remote reboot

$250/month

Where does dacenter have there datacenter?
Lenoir, NC their bandwidth blend is Cogent, nLayer, TeliaSonera, and HE so it's not the best but for the price it's excellent. For some reason they only have HE for IPv6 but it's better than nothing. :)

Fiberhub, Gorack, Corespace
Thank you. We already have a rack @ GoRack and they have been great so far, but we'd like to have some redundancy. Our experience with Fiberhub was not very good, although it was a few years ago, not sure if they got any better.

Will get in touch with Corespace, never heard of them before.

Fiberhub has this: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1361119

I've never used them or Dacentec but somehow Dacentec sounds better. Their quarter cabinet deal: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1360007

Corespace may be the cheapest you'd get. However, I've heard some horror stories about them like tripping the power cable. Make your research.

You can get a good deal from Colocrossing by their Hudsonvalleyhost brand in Buffalo. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1362208

FDC Chicago (old) (avoid Denver) should also be good enough within the budget.

These guys may be a fit as well: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1360779

Do you need access to datacenter or would want no access managed colo? Might be a good idea to contact someone on East Coast with excess space and similar carriers in their blend and work it out.

FDC Has no redundancy in most locations and after being in one of their datacenters I'd never tell anyone to use them.

Thanks for the great info, we are already in touch with Dacentec and Corespace. I would probably avoid Fiberhub and FDC for now :)

Is HVH actually good considering all this CC drama? We have a few servers with Servermania, and they aren't bad, but their colo pricing was quite high last time I checked.

No access is needed, we use remote hands (and are willing to pay for RH services).
