New MBPR Recommended Apps

So I have been looking around for a new laptop and ended up with the new Macbook Pro Retina (8gb/256gb ssd) My last Macbook was a powerbook series so its been a while.

What are some recommended power user applications that you like. Mainly just going to be a computer for VPN into network and CMS etc.

I dont see a reasons I need Windows 8 on my new MBP.

I planned on using the native ipsec utility but do need a IRC client so I will definitely check out Limechat

TextWrangler for coding.

Alfred is awesome for search and can run other macros, it's an everyday use tool for me.

Cyberduck is my favorite file uploading tool. It supports FTP and everything plus it supports S3, Rackspace Cloud... and many other places. It's awesome!
