VPS with standalone firewall?

It's expensive and not many places offer the cisco units.

Someone out of softlayer would be able to do it as well as Burstnet but that's about it.

There are small distros for router / firewall functionality.  Should fit in very small VPS footprint.

That will require 2 VPSes on same server/network though.  Additional cost obviously.

I'm fairly sure he's wanting the firewall to tank with (provide basic ACLs, etc).

There has bee multiple skidfests on WHT that have been trying to find providers that will provide them unmetered 10gbit/sec inbound for the sole reason to tank floods.

One guy was like 'I want to be able to ride 5Gbit/sec inbound at any given time and want to spend less than < $100/m'.

^--- that's going to be rare to find.  No one wants to eat attacks and deal with them, especially for low end money.

Question is why are people parked with a fixed target.  Skids should be more mobile.
