Yuzu is a totally free open-source Nintendo Switch emulator made by Citra Team, the exact same group of developers that made Citra, the Nintendo 3DS emulator written about previously. The 2 emulators share a good deal of similarity in their code. It is officially available on 64-bit Windows 7 and over, in addition to 64-bit Linux hardware. 8 gigabytes of RAM is the bare minimum, while 16 gigabytes is recommended. MacOS isn't currently supported, however, as of April 2020, compatibility for your hardware has been developed; it isn't currently known when this will be implemented. Yuzu is regarded as user friendly. To play the many playable games lawfully, you are required to ditch them from your own Nintendo switch. DLC and game upgrades can be set up, and this is known to be a very straightforward process. In terms of linking controllers for use, you'll want to change some settings, though the details depend on what game you are playing, as well as your own hardware. Using a mouse and computer keyboard works for games, and you can especially set up your keyboard and mouse for specific actions.

One characteristic that Yuzu has is very like one Citra has (which has been written about previously). You may choose whether you would like to set up the Yuzu Nightly version or the Yuzu Canary variant. Yuzu Nightly is a much more stable version of Yuzu which will be easier for you to use and play games with, but it doesn't have some features you may want accessible. The Yuzu Canary variant, in contrast, may not be as stable as Nightly, but has a few attributes Nightly does not have available. Much like in Citra, these features are sometimes experimental; they might be eventually put into Yuzu Nightly, other times they're left alone in Yuzu Canary, or, sometimes, removed entirely from any sort of accessible Yuzu software. Other times they are just features that only work with lower performance (Or brings the game's performance down), which is the reason they are exclusive to the less steady version (Yuzu Canary).
