Looking for Chicago, IL (non-ColoCrossing) VPS

I'm looking for a provider that offers Chicago, IL as a location and is not utilizing ColoCrossing.  I'm flexible on the virtualization, and payment terms (monthly/quarterly/yearly) as well as the specs to some extent.

2 - 4 CPU Core (fair share)
768 - 1024MB RAM
20 - 40GB Diskspace
OpenVZ/KVM/XEN
500GB - 1TB Bandwidth
1 Gigabit Port (preferred)
1 IPV4 Address

The EDIS VRS Basic is the best fit, at the moment --

We'll see if any others come to our mind, or chime in!  ;)

ColoCrossing is only a reseller, so ..... do you want it not in the same DC as colocrossing as well?

It could be in the same DC, and I don't have any issues with CC as I could easily by a Chicago VPS from them.  I wanted to try to diversify as I'm restructuring and consolidating.  The wife is none to happy with me living in the CLI prompt and I do have the setup I like nailed down now.  It's time to deploy!  I was thinking Continuum or Cenmark -- I might have to look at Southbend, IL providers as well.

I wanted the Chicago area, as I'll ocassionally push backups from the non-profit server I admin for an organization at WiredTree.

Not being extremely helpful here, but look for VPS providers with Steadfast or Continuum.

@24khost and southbendservers both have offers out of Colostore which isn't far from Chicago.

I just recently got a VPS from SouthBendServers as I am in Indiana it's nice to be able to have a VPS closer to home. Still too early to be able to give any review, though I would recommend them as a contender in your search unless you specifically require a Chicago VPS or Chicago based IP.

Thanks MannDude!

And yes, the additional latency to Chicago is really negligible (< 4ms).  Same with our IPv6 tunnel, since it is tunneled directly to the same datacenter where the fiber is backhauled to.  Colostore is also Level3's South Bend POP (DC tech just told me that today).  They have 2 10Gbit links available.

Would avoid them like the plague.  The recent WHT reviews seem to indicate it hasn't improved any.
They're not bad, IMHO. Support could use a little work, but generally good bang for the buck, especially with IPs, which I needed several of. Aside from IPv6 issues on signup that were resolved pretty quickly, no complaints really.

After running a few tests (ping / testfile download), through out the day, over a couple days --

I've picked up a VPS from SouthBendServers, and man is the network smokin' at that location!!!

Thanks for all the info, I'm so upset with the 4ms backhaul to Chicago, but I'll live...  :p
