Did you find a way to do unprivileged containers? I couldn't. It's on the roadmap of pve 4 though. I've got two online specials yesterday and will be putting pve 4 on them, but 3.4 probably would have been a better choice with ovz. Having containers running as root on the host isn't ideal.

How educated are "DDOS" attackers? I've just seen a thread on lowendtalk and made me wonder about something. Are they smart enough to go direct for the IP or are they going for hostnames?

Quite a lot. I've flagged at least 3 to 5 of their accounts on lowendtalk over a few months. They were actually entertaining, admitting spamming and apologizing for it. Then getting banned again, and joining up a few days later.

It was surely something in the config directory in the default config files that stopped pdns from replying. Now it's working, except for the resolver's returning nothing! But I'll look into it. Thanks for the link and ideas.
