Well they have a outdated Wordpress for WHIR, so you can say it could be hacked via Wordpress, you only need access to the server through an exploit right and then they can get any database they want.

x64 is 64 bit x86 is 32 bit. The best and modern computers support 64 bits.
On computers that folder is used for apps wasn't built in 64bit I believe, since 64 bit computers support both 32 bit and 64 bit software but 32 bit computers can only run 32 bit software.
I tried using your tutorial on Centos 7 changing apt-get to yum and I couldn't get it working so maybe that's why :D
