Filezilla mostly unless I am download / installing something in a archive file then just wget from its location.

Did you get a bad IP to start with? I know in the past I got a blacklisted IP before I even used it :(

I used to use this for setting up a new vps but I see it has not been updated in a long time. Sometimes I want a VPS setup quick for testing and dont want to configure it myself. Are there any good scripts that are similar that are meant to be used on vpses with small memory?

What the difference? Why choose one from the other? I sometimes cant find a debian tutorial and ubuntu works even on debian, or vice versa. Is there big difference?
