I'd like to request that instead of doing a one-off payment system to actually have payments required for upgrades and such.   Why? Because if I want to purchase a billing system I'd like to know that it'd be around long enough to constantly push out new updates and defend against new threats...

  I believe though that you can request up to 2 or 3 fail-over IPs for free, but you have to ask for them one at a time.

  Hm wow.  This is fantastic!  Do you get actual root access to the server itself or is it just broken into OpenVZ VPSes to begin with?  That's what the website currently looks like it tells me, although you personally would get the server itself dedicated to you.

I have all of my personal dedicated servers in use so I can't really help you out there.  I have personally had good experience with Datashack's sales and support department so I'd suggest just shooting them an e-mail about this wouldn't hurt.   Also, they do have stock on the Dual Opteron...

  I remember a while ago AMD CPUs were generally more expensive than Intel ones (I'm being very broad here).  Also, I remember AMD was much slower with CPU development than Intel.  I remember when Intel came out with the quad core much earlier than AMD.  I feel like AMD still hasn't caught up...

Oh man.  Thanks for this great review on prometeus/iperweb @!  Prometeus is actually where my ZNC is hosted on and currently it's uptime is 328 days.  They run one solid operation and I personally have tons of respect for them!   In terms of this plan, I also have one and definitely continues...

Like what @D. Strout said, he's referring to servers not home built machines.  Although my home built machine does use an AMD Athlon II X4.   I personally have a Phenom II 840 from Datashack that acts as a personal VPS and storage node.  In terms of actual VPS/production environment, I do know...
