Looking for a G-Mod server to run on VPS, Which host do I use?

How much RAM do you actually need? I always thought G-Mod servers were more CPU bound than RAM, but maybe i'm thinking of other steam games.

Task tracking for the VERY busy folks out there - recommendations?

You know, there's ~15 tasks in bitrix related to the anycast overhaul and that's quite literally how half them went. Fran

    IPv4 depletion, whats the deal?

There's 2 providers that come to mind doing this. They're both doing deals around $3 - $5/year for a 512MB OVZ and a /29 included. The first one to do it is requesting blocks every couple weeks and also refuses to lock pricing for renewals for obvious reasons they won't disclose. Francisco

    IPv4 depletion, whats the deal?

There are a lot of hosting providers that aren't in the business of hosting, but rather in the business of (long term) selling IP addresses. You have providers like ServerHub, EGIHosting, ServerMania, ENZU, & even the community favorite CC, that are in the business to some day sell for the...

SpamVPS, the industry leading 2GB for a peso brand BBB

I think it'd be best to just delete the people from your database all together. Whenever another slip up happens with a mass email it'll just flare them all up towards you again and it's obvious that the loudest posters over on LE aren't interested in service again anyway. Fran

    vpsBoard fitness club!

I did the math on my daily calories and found out very quickly that I was drinking ~700 calories a day just in pop and such. 2 x 16oz rootbeers and then 1 - 2 cans of gingerale. I've cut those all out, just doing the flavoured waters now. They're not amazing for you since it's food colouring...

    BuyVM.NET / BuyShared.NET - Shared - $5/year | Resellers - $2.00/month! Dedicated IPv4! SSD RAID!

It's already in the works, just waiting on the ol' DC to finish the drives. Thanks for the feedback :) Would you be OK with us counting this as a testimonial for the site? Francisco

    [OpenVZ] Ploop 1.12.2

ZFS + linux is extremely RAM whorish for a lack of a nicer term. The ARC isn't integrated into linux's base memory management which means when ZFS decides it's going to blow up its RAM usage, it's going to mark the RAM as actually used, even if all it's doing is caching. While there are some...

    BuyVM.NET / BuyShared.NET - Shared - $5/year | Resellers - $2.00/month! Dedicated IPv4! SSD RAID!

Mind opening a ticket with the headers for us so I can look into it? I wonder if our WHMCS disabled Amazon SES somehow (or that they broke SMTP in the newest versions). 107.189.0.1 :) I'll update the main post with test IP's. Francisco

    [OpenVZ] Ploop 1.12.2

Any customer that comes to us asking for huge inode limits we offer to put them on ploop with customized block sizing. We've only done this a few times and thankfully they've been fine for now. We have a few other users, though, that have had a rough time and we, nor they, can figure out why...

Digital Ocean gets $50 Million Credit Line

Airy? :( Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. It used to be 'grid computing' back when mediatemple spun that term. People didn't "get" it so that's when "services that you don't handle the physical layer of" turned into "cloud". I still believe that DO, and many other hosts, are going...

    IPSec, go tech!

BSD is a pain in the butt usually. The parameter order for GRE tunnels for instance is quite odd. So what was the major road block? Doesn't the Windows IPSEC setup work in pure tunnel mode, or I guess it's riding on L2TP? I'm pretty green when it comes to IPSEC so I'm not very well versed in...

    LizardSquad

"The lulz" is the usual explanation. One or two of them got arrested but for unrelated charges (fraud, stealing from peoples paypal's, etc). They likely didn't have beef, they just want to cause as much noise as they can. What better way to do it than to beat up 2 services dominated by pent up...

    OpenVZ Command Blocking

OVZ would be OK with that assuming you put a hard cap on RAM. If he does other abusive things (DDOS, etc) then as Aldryic said, a jail is likely the best solution. Francisco
