    History of 4.2.2.2

Proud to say I've been using 4.2.2.[1-6] servers probably since their very early days.   Works quite good and always has. Funny that Level3 can't shake the use and get people from using such.   Considering how much OpenDNS sold for with minimal addon outside of generic lookup the 4.2.2.[1-6]...

    Flash Finally Dead? Blame HackingTeam.

Facebook security chief tweeted the other day:     Then a fellow over at Firefox dropped a boot on Flash   And.... Why? Cause our "friends" at HackingTeam were using TWO exploits in Flash to hack folks. (see: )

DC2 - Desktop Container Computer for Docker Containers

A weird but niche interesting Kickstarter campaign for a one time run of these odd cased Minnowboard Max small form factor dual core ARMs. Docker being all the hipster rage, someone has decided to make a docker computer setup that looks like shipping containers.  It's pretty slick from the case...

Who was your first VPS provider?

Ahh a good one... I was late to the VPS world.  My interest in VPS waned quickly with lots of foolish providers.  I tried MANY.  I can't even remember who was first at this point :( AlienVPS was a company I noted very early on.  Never bought from them but considered it more than I should have...

Should I invest in my current company or acquire bigger company?

So let's say this is $18k US Dollars.  Not a tiny pile of money, but hardly deal money.   Waiting... for every small host to say otherwise. I'd do a lot with that funding.   Since you state interest in deals and wanting to grow, most of that is best done as a limited liability legal entity to...

Is it legal to deny new orders or block orders from high risk countries?

Office of Antiboycott Compliance (OAC) The Bureau is charged with administering and enforcing the Antiboycott Laws under the Export Administration Act. Those laws discourage, and in some circumstances, prohibit U.S. companies from furthering or supporting the boycott of Israel sponsored by the...

    Occupation.

You should compare and know what your title is and if it isn't well defined you should determine what it is called in other shops. Whatever that best is defined as or called is what should be application or resume. The supporting body text should have supporting responsibilities and jobs...

Label Printer Recommendation - Cable Tags

That Dymo RhinoPro 5200 looks great for $70-80.  Nice to see they have shrink wrap and other types of labels for these.  Means it won't be just office kit, but can use in field too. Very appreciated and great recommendation.

A peek inside North Korea's intranet

Very interesting. Any idea of what the IPs in the graphic above are for? IPv4 conservation in practice is all over.  All big telcos in the US are NAT'd and need really not many IPs vs. massive sea of pay customers behind their setup.

Label Printer Recommendation - Cable Tags

Looking for group recommendation here... Shopping for a label printer to label cables of all sorts and other wired assets.  Something handheld and non PC would be great so can be used in the field. Anyone using such devices in their shop / racks?  What brands/models have been good experience...

    This Forum.......

There is always going to be drama and topics that make someone cringe. Every other thread probably bruises some thin skinned folks. Everyone has opinions, differences, perspectives, etc.  Those don't invalidate a way of doing things or make someone usually wrong.  Sometimes we have dramas on...
