    URPad.net / RootLevelTech - headed for recycling?

I read tons of post-mortems for fails in the industry.  Emails, blog posts, random things people send my way. URPad.net's recent IPMI accused hack was ugly. What's uglier is the company-speak about the company in general. This is taken from: https://urpad.net/blog/update-events/ Barely break...

And for my next aerial assault, Belkin is getting it.

I figured out what is wrong with Belkin, they are straight outta Compton ( a nod to NWA --- http://rapgenius.com/Nwa-straight-outta-compton-lyrics). Seriously, founded there and were based there until recent times Belkin was.

And for my next aerial assault, Belkin is getting it.

So... plugged both into the same power service.  Possible they are on the very same circuit too. Remote speed test now is peak over 500K/s, but often blippy up and down on throughput. (bandwidth on normal wired connection to same test doesn't behave like that. Hopefully this week I can have an...

And for my next aerial assault, Belkin is getting it.

Cleaning one of my workstations and desks today (that's what this set of powerline adapters were for -- but a different office). So right now... I have 1 unit plugged into my main power and the internet router. The other unit into my seconday power grid pull and a PC. Me, I am standing in...

    ChicagoVPS - Christmas 2Gb Special

Cachefly should be ahh removed from tests.  I've never isolated how they do it, but seen quite a few Cachefly test speeds that exceed the line speed.  Their test file is also, at last check entire compressible. 100MB file zips down to < 1MB. But in this instance, polar opposite speed.  A very...

And for my next aerial assault, Belkin is getting it.

Hahaha! Ebay, land of the import mocku-gear rebadgers.   I do buy on Ebay, but sparingly these days as it has gone to crap there. The powerline kit: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2350631,00.asp http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G15S6443...

And for my next aerial assault, Belkin is getting it.

Sorry, I am slammed today.   I did an unboxing with today's mail of my Powerline Adapter, a Belkin. This isn't a PowerLine technology at all.  It isn't even news per se.  But I haven't seen mention of the matter and I am wondering how these shitheads are allowed to be selling what they are...

Love you concerto49... Inherited customer and or ip range via acquisition. Spot on. SWIP is a sore topic up in the empire state. Think Spamhaus poked your upstream about such before in BUF, a few times.

GreenValueHost becoming ColoCrossing, dumping providers, etc.

That's a funny line... It isn't my handiwork / writing. Unsure what the situation was and why hackerperson didn't do more/worse...  Did the fellow know something was up?   Well, I did send GVH a PM as soon as the admin dump came out.... and someone at GVH immediately cut backups at that...

    SEMOWeb hacked and nodes wiped

On this one, I think they got leveled :) Sucks, but it has been mega quiet until past few days... I know people are on summer break.. enjoying sun and fun... but some surely used that free time for hacker episodes..  I suspect more of this coming and a long summer for admins.
