GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

^--- that's spot on.   You of course know I am rabble-rouser  and recommended certain tactics to utilize your paid for resources (i.e. reserving disk for later and the 100TB challenge).  Fine line in areas between testing and just setting something on fire to watch it burn.   Important on the...

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

Yeah paltry numbers there. This is from some other BUF node on an account I've had access to. dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync; unlink test 16384+0 records in 16384+0 records out 1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 6.45542 s, 166 MB/s GVH would do well to move...

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

Working for, no.  But if you consider mentoring someone and recommending they step back, breath, go for a jog, stop the employee head count stuff, focus, etc. then that could get mixed up.   I have been in touch with Jon though semi-actively in the past < 24 hours.  Some  folks were being...

GVH suspended after minor use of 100TB plan

The OP's situation sounds odd.   The sort of use described and low throughput shouldn't be setting anything in normal monitoring off at any provider. The bandwidth cap/shaping sounds like a hard set limit and frankly, I'd expect it in light of the mass attempts to  test these plans, use 100TB...

    Packet Loss at Fiberhub?

Get some popcorn and soda ready.   I think this week Zleava gets dealt some tough love. I could tell some stories, but I won't.  Wondering if Timmy is going to ever get that CoreXLayer lit :) ?

    Packet Loss at Fiberhub?

Has there been some official press notice/release about this attack? Wondered why vpsB was not loading correctly or at all past few hours.

GreenValueHost outsources customer support to India.

Considering it's the weekend and not a school day, I suspect he hasn't seen daylight in 24 hours+...  But 'Jon' is a morning person, so maybe he basks some before cracking open the panel and allocating mo' VPS for his leeches. I can hear the phone now "Ernie I need a discount on a petabyte of...

Wait... wait... Something about a part-timer being "Vice President" and outsourced people being "employees". It's all playground  daycare stuff

Want some 128MB for $8/year in Dallas with Incero?

Good history lesson there Mr. D. Strout! I am hoping Incero finally gets on IPv6 train.  Good team there and decent offers.  IPv6 is about due for many to deploy.

    Launching A Cool VPS Business

If you have 18 people in any full participating capacity you are a good 14 over realistic needs. He said he isn't using We3Cares in a PM (don't slap me for saying).  Nonetheless, prevailing good wage in India is VERY low by standards of the rest of us.   Employing them is exploitation and it is...

Poor IP Reputation from Client Abuse

SPAM remains a big problem. Usually the real big league spammers have crazy spending habits.  It's recognizable easily.   They often deposit a good bit of extra money, buy a good bit of resources.   Big spenders, and this is why lots of providers look the other way. Trick as a provider is to...

    Launching A Cool VPS Business

I'll buy a plan from anyone crazy enough to offer whacky specs.  Down side is, I'll probably go make an effort to use it. GVH for all their failings, ahem youthful indiscretions, is the only provider I've tried who actually let my millions of rows of data dump import and index create in...

    Post your workspace/workarea/job sites :D

Some clean desks :)   Only time I manage a clear desk is after a bad temper tantrum followed by a mass floor toss and sweep.   Or when I build a new desk in another office.   Up to four desks now...   Running out of rooms :)

List of reliable sub 20$ per year providers

Going to keep it simple...  I spew enough words everywhere else.   Database, no, not yet.   Might go build myself something over the weekend.   Have the hankering to build stuff but this winter has been rather brutal, so none of the traditional building --- might be good to get my brain code...

    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

Plus, you can mouse of signature area and should get an X in the top right corner.  Go over there and should get menu to ignore that poster's signature or all signatures.   Just turned mine off again.

    Ideas and suggestions for vpsBoard

You can turn signatures off on posts as a user :)   It's a nested option up there on top right where your user name --- therein.  I turned signatures off when vpsB just started and didn't realize there were signatures until a few weeks ago :)
