Happy Labor Day to all in the United States

That's when I use to do the laundry, dishes and general house up keep. Then come evening, it was out to a foreign national restaurant --- Indian food in recent times, Chinese in years prior.

    Lowendbox is a corrupt marketplace

Joel is kitesailing --- or running his related business. Or being ill as others claimed. February Nick from RamNode found the Alex = BuySellAd payments recipient.  Moderators certainly got binged about that question in February.  All the way up to the hack (May), they were curious about...

Happy Labor Day to all in the United States

The three day plus weekends such a holiday sets up creates often a business decrease.   Always good to see someone in this industry bucking that trend. Running some active promos or other explanation for the uptick @fizzyjoe908?

    The truth about ColoCrossing

I don't think Jack's post should have caused such a stir over the edit function. Do what I do @Jack, let it fly.  Let it stick.   If later determined that the info was wrong then say so. It happens. It's funny that general trauma inflicted at the first mention or inference of the term "legal...

    The truth about ColoCrossing

The solution to the 5 minute rule is to have a content system that keeps all prior edits. I'd imagine IPB likely has a plugin to keep prior versions of a message. It's just good sensible version control to keep priors.

Happy Labor Day to all in the United States

Today is a holiday in the United States (for all our international viewers).  It is Labor Day. It is identical to Labour Day celebrated in other countries on May 1st. Labor Day has been celebrated on the first Monday in September since the late 1880's.  May 1st in the United States is a date...

New Solusvm Rlease - 1.14 Stable

Will be interesting to see who suddenly exposes Solus to the world again and what comes of it. Improvements made, due to audit...    Anyone know if the audit is going to see daylight and the firm who performed the audit?

    Lowendbox is a corrupt marketplace

I'll be direct on things. Joel was owed money by CC.  That was said and spread by many people, some of which know Joel, supposedly.  He said, she said, no doubt about it.  If I ever get physical proof, you can bet you'll see it. Now, the other word split contention about CC's official take...

    Feedback on prices for backups/snapshots

^--- that sounds most excellent. Being able to mount the backup and poke through it is great idea.

WeLoveServers (VPS Hosting in 6 locations) - adds Orlando, FL & London, UK locations

Thanks @Oxide. The problem with the weloveservers brand is that issue with your last brand.  Neither company name and the offended parties had any "official" government trademark registration.  Most folks aren't spending money with legal to that degree. Yes, cool name, all claims aside...

WeLoveServers (VPS Hosting in 6 locations) - adds Orlando, FL & London, UK locations

I am not the first person to stumble into thefunkywizard / Gabe with the clear attachment to the weloveservers.com domain name and even more evident use of email addresses and slogans related to this "brand".  Let me say, I am not saying Gabe is involved, but rather the unrelated...

    Volumedrive about to deadpool?

Has that been confirmed ? :)  Heard the Burst eye spy part and the trail to the local STD clinic where the new datacenter was located (which also is in a big time flood zone). Looks like VD is single homed to InfoRelay. So, clearly, that must mean VD is utilizing metro ethernet to connect to...

    Volumedrive about to deadpool?

Yeah VD lit back up and went offline then back online. I stopped following the WHT thread during that time. Just revisited the thread and it's like the helpless help desk.  Burst slow on support or none and VolumeDrive being their predictable selves and not so hot on support either...

    Review - AnyNode OpenVZ 1GB

Yes, anyNode has a parent company --- think it is listed on their ads here on vpsBoard. Physical office, yes.   Their network performs well from here (only testing so far).  That's weird, because my upstream seems to hate throughput :)

What virtualization are you using? OpenVZ, Xen, or KVM?

As an end user/customer, mostly using OpenVZ since most offers are based on such. On my own dedicated servers, been using ProxMox for a while. On the desktop/workstation, using Virtualbox for testing instances, small isolated "containers", perfecting installations for remote servers, etc.

    Feedback on prices for backups/snapshots

I went with 20%. I am all for actually useful ala carte pricing for addons/features.  Other useful features like the DDoS filtering are over half of the the $5.95 monthly on the medium sized 512MB plan.  That uptick I still think is downright cheap regardless of comparison to the base price...

    Lowendbox is a corrupt marketplace

The number I believe @WebSearchingPro was 70% of the offers submitted are from CC based companies.  I don't doubt it, those newbs probably get an introductory email with their "Instant $99 become a VPS provider" solution from Colocrossing, that says in part: We have to remember here that Liam...
